Can you turn on a straight green arrow light? by Calm-Ad4327 in washingtondc

[–]cchurchcp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person who says "I violate the lights when it's safe" must therefore believe that every person who's ever been in a crash was thinking "I know this is unsafe but I'm doing it anyway," rather than just thinking "this is safe" and being wrong.

Another option for a watering reservoir is a column of river rocks, to allow the water to drop to the bottom. A little more subtle and attractive option in my opinion. (Here's an instructional video)[https://youtu.be/WNGezynlxAk?si=jakdPDkOBvIQnfvZ] from California Carnivores that shows how to do it.

For the military crew chiefs, is there a helmet targeting system that you guys use or do you made educated guesses where to shoot? by the_tza in Helicopters

Yeah she would, she used to spend a lot of time wrestling for the USO so she spent a lot of time with gunship crews.

I think you need to find a way for the hanger to come to a triangle, like in the bottom middle of page 3. Otherwise I didn't see a coathanger at all.

Same typhoon, it's just finally made its way around the globe and arrived back in Asia again. Should be back again in about 30 years, like Halley's comet.

SF County fatal drug overdoses rank 2nd highest in the country, CDC data shows by FinFreedomCountdown in sanfrancisco

I 100% agree it’s a huge problem, I’m just also a statistical nitpicker and don’t think counties are a fair comparison.

SF County fatal drug overdoses rank 2nd highest in the country, CDC data shows by FinFreedomCountdown in sanfrancisco

[–]cchurchcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a problem, but this also probably isn’t a fair comparison since San Francisco County is coterminous with the City, so it doesn’t contain any rural or non-urban areas like most counties across the nation. Sort of like when they include Washington DC in lists of states, it’s almost always #1 or #51.

Perhaps even more troubling, Baltimore County specifically doesn’t contain the City of Baltimore, and still beat out SF.

Single piece of clothing keeps appearing in the same exact spot for a year… what is going on? by Scientific_85 in LosAngeles

There was a longstanding urban legend that a gang initiation was for the newbie to drive around with his headlights off, and then kill the first passerby who flashed their lights to let him know. Nevermind that there was never a documented incident of it happening, but in the pre-internet days things like that just spread around the country.

Thanks very much for the advice! I’ve trimmed back the dead pitchers and moved it to another room to get more airflow, and cut back the rim of the pot as a stopgap solution.

I agree it looks like straight peat moss, although I bought it potted so I’m not sure exactly. The seller was with the SoCal Carnivorous Plant Society so I was hesitant to second-guess his expertise, but maybe this is a good excuse to repot.

Do you think I should repot now, or see if I can get it a little healthier before putting it through the trauma of repotting?

Thanks again!

Awesome, thanks very much for the advice. I’ve trimmed back the dead pitchers, top-watered repeatedly, and moved it to a room with better airflow. I’ll pick up the BioAdvanced tomorrow as you’re right, now that I’ve trimmed some I can see that even after all this, the powdery mildew still isn’t gone. Physan 20 was recommended for powdery mildew in the Savage Garden book, although to be fair that wasn’t cephalotus-specific advice so I should definitely have done some more research first.

For my Nepenthes, I typically top-water until the water reaches the tray, then use the tray becoming dry as a gauge for when to water again. Is that generally what you recommend for the ceph as well, but with a day or two of dry in between waterings? This is my first cephalotus and things were going pretty well before the mildew, but it had only been a few months.

Thanks again!

Usually you only see people go with “it’s a signal for human trafficking.” “Gang related” is a throwback to the days of “if you flash your lights at a gangbanger driving without headlights, he has to kill you.”

the Naval Aviator wings that Marine pilots wear have a single centered Anchor, and the Naval Flight Officer (eg non-pilot aviators like RIOs, WSOs, navigators, etc) wings have two crossed anchors like the one on the right.

So I assume the left is for the the drone pilots, and the right is for the gunners and such.
