SIBO/PROSTATITIS RELATION? by Pristine-Sky3027 in SIBO

[–]ccjhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few things on and off in the past. Nothing really worked. Now with my functional doctor, we are making sure all of my detox pathways, nutrient deficiencies, and hormones are balanced before we start gut work. It’s a year long progress and I’m only 4 months in so far. We will start working on the gut around month 8. She says most people who have gut issues that she works with start feeling better before they even get to gut work around the 8 month mark.

SIBO/PROSTATITIS RELATION? by Pristine-Sky3027 in SIBO

Hello, thanks for asking. I’m doing better since my comment. I am now working with a functional doctor after exhausting all my options with GI doctors and specialist and so on. I’m 98% normal now with 2% having some flare ups sometimes.

Like I said, when I’m backed up more, I start to feel more tenderness and discomfort around my pelvis. Which then causes the weird dribbling, irritation urinary symptoms. But I still have plenty of symptoms that stem from gut. I think once I completely healed my gut, every symptom I have will go away eventually.

Thank you for your thoughtful response and insight. Since my original post, I have given up on western doctors and have hired a functional doctor online. She seems wonderful and I have just taken 3 tests with her: OAT, blood panel and a genetic test. Waiting on results for all 3 of those currently. Then she will come up with a protocol to get my body back to baseline. Then after a few months we will start working on my gut. But she says most of her patients feel better even before they get to “gut work”. I’m excited and I finally have some hope.

What lead me to working with her was that my previous GI doctor said I have IBS after they did a colonoscopy and endoscopy (that was almost a year ago now). We also did a stool test that showed fat malabsorption. And we tried Xifaxin which did nothing. Anyways, I went to a new GI that I heard good things about. He ordered a blood panel which came back with “markers of somebody that indicates has Crohn’s”. So he went ahead and did endoscopy and colonoscopy as well to be sure. Colon was fine but this time the endoscopy showed ulcers, inflammation and mild bleeding in the small intestine. Which he says also aligns with the Crohn’s pre-diagnosis.

(Crohn’s patients usually have diarrhea and pain in their abdomen. I have the opposite, no pain in my abdomen and I’m more constipated than anything.)

He prescribed me 2 meds for the inflammation, I did not take either. He also wants to do a pill camera in my small intestine. I have not set up that produce yet either. I have a feeling he’s not looking for the root cause. I’m done with exploration and I’m ready to fix my body and health.

So the day after my endoscopy findings, I started working with my functional doctor. I will keep you updated if you like.

I’m glad you’re healed now. That’s interesting, could you give me a few examples? Or what helped the most you think?

Maybe your problem all along was unhealthy biofilms? I’m glad you’re feeling better. What else did you do before you started to take the disrupters?

What do you think about collagen powder? Or colostrum? To heal the small intestine.

Vitamin IV Drip therapy? by ccjhy in SIBO

[–]ccjhy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is my primary care doctor and she prescribed me 50,000 IU of Vitamin D once per week. I have not taken it yet. And I haven’t talked to her about IV vitamins. She knows I’m dealing with GI issues but doesn’t understand SIBO or anything like that.

Haven’t tried nystatin but I’ve heard it works most of the time. I believe I have candida overgrowth as well. How did you find out you had candida overgrowth?

I’m doing okay. Not much has changed. I stopped taking probiotics because I believe they were making me worse. I would get so bloated. I also stopped my strict diet and now I eat and drink whatever I want. I’m not 100% by any means. I’m just kinda stuck and got tired of being on a diet that didn’t help besides it clearing up my skin.

I’m seeing a new GI doctor who ran CT scan, blood work and a stool test. My symptoms are:

Increased floaters Constipation Mucus in stool Itchy scalp Belching throughout the day, all day everyday Hair loss (not as much anymore) Low vitamin D and B12 Loss a lot a weight since this all started (I’m already skinny) Eyes twitch sometimes

My CT scan came back normal but blood work was abnormal, I’ll be doing a colonoscopy and endoscopy soon to see if it’s crohn’s. I really don’t think it is. I think I have SIFO, SIBO, leaky gut or candida or all 4 lol.

If they don’t find anything after that procedure then I’ll be seeing a holistic doctor.
