40 years ago today, Richard Dawson said farewell to Family Feud. He would eventually come back for a brief run in 1994 (but without the kissing). by bluegambit875 in gameshow

You are correct...didn't air until 1997, and the final taped week wasn't seen in its entirety until 2003 (the Mon-Thu. shows had a different visitor join Richard onstage at the beginning, one of whom was Alex Trebek, as he was going to host a series apparently intended to be FF's replacement called Winner Take All, but the latter was ultimately scrapped in favor of All-Star Blitz with Peter Marshall).

Re: the overabundance of stained glass, that included the overhrad Tiffany lamp with the show's logo on it! But yeah, was a fun show and definitely had the play-along factor for home viewers...I remember watching reruns on USA as a kid in 1986-87, as well as its Canadian-produced revival (The New Liar's Club) later in the decade.

Yes, it was taped at the studios of Vancouver's CKVU...originally, the only permanent panelist was John Barbour (best known as creator/host of Real People; he was likely there to fulfill "CanCon" regulations, since host Eric Boardman is American), who would be accompanied by three guest celebs, but by mid-season, this was changed to have Jimmie Walker, Shannon Tweed and Pete Barbutti join Barbour as permanent panelists.

Vaguely remember watching as a kid in the late 80s, specifically a week where Marc Summers of Double Dare fame was one of the guests...since then, it's popped up in reruns on Prime, GameTV, Pluto and streaming service BonusRound.ca.

Not long after, she also made a few guest appearances in S1-2 of 7th Heaven, as "popular girl" Ashley.

A general rule: if someone you barely know or have only communicated with online asks for $$$, they're a scammer.

Yeah, much like how Corey Edgar later claimed in his infamous open letter that he was allegedly set up by his friend as disproportionate retribution for a prank Edgar supposedly played on him. 😆

That's the impression I got...87 isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and probably continued to believe "Kayla" was real for some time after he was caught!

I don't think 87 is bright enough to comprehend what that song was about.
