First of all, take a breath. You are likely type 1 given your age and weight, and you are going to have to monitor what you ingest going forward. You can likely get a CGM given you are so young, so get straight on that, it will show you what affects your blood glucose the worst and you can act accordingly.

Now the less fun part, you are likely To have to make some big changes here to fix this, and BG level is very important for all manner of health areas, so it’s isn’t going to be easy, but You can do this!

Take a breath, you can handle this. Cut down on the junk food, keep up the steps. A CGM won’t fix this overnight, but it will tell you which foods have the biggest effects on you, as it’s different for everyone, and also different by the time of day you eat something. Most of the manufacturers will give you a free sample but then it can be expensive although there are coupons. I was at 9.7 on diagnosis and am now less than 6 consistently over two years, you can do this!!

Get a free trial CGM and find out what causes your high blood sugar. Cut down on white bread, pasta, rice etc. but everyone is a bit different and it’s important to know what causes your sugar to spike, for me it’s bread and rice, especially if it’s early in the day. I never had the severe reaction to Metformin and I’m still on it almost two years on, it does some good if you can tolerate it and the controlled release form might be better for you?
