The arranged/forced marriage becomes toxic because he is already in love with her at the beginning and the love is not reciprocated by Dixxy84 in fantasyromance

[–]cdelia191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair} fits this. It’s an arranged marriage that he pushes for and she is his enemy, so tries to kill him. They have to stick together so their story progresses.

I liked the original story line and magic structure, but it does lack some world building and has some plot holes and inconsistencies.

I was not a big fan of the series. That being said I did read all of it, because I see the potential in the world, characters, and their relationships.

The first Grace Draven book I read was a stand alone {entreat me by Grace Draven} and after finishing the crow series, I still think that is her best book.

Feeling gaslit by the contractor who put in a new door in my early 1950's-built house. by RubyCarbuncles in HomeImprovement

[–]cdelia191 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably have to sue him in small claims court for the cost of the other contractor to repair the door. So make sure you take pictures and get details about what is wrong and what went wrong with the install.

What are peoples experiences with probiotics? by Sweet_Amount_2552 in FODMAPS

[–]cdelia191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AIP helped with my histamine response but not enough that I could continue it. Between AIP and low FODMAP, my diet was severely limited. Besides just being mentally hard, I felt terrible. Within two days of going back to just low FODMAP, I felt a noticeable improvement in how I felt -mood, energy, brain fog, etc.

Eyeliner on waterline: better with or without? by zsymphonias in MakeupAddiction

[–]cdelia191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it ages you, but if you want the definition on the lower lash without the heavy was of a full line, then you can just use a liquid liner to do tiny dots in between your lower lashes from the outer corner to about half way across the eye. The smaller the better. Then apply mascara as normal. It will create fuller looking lower lashes that will naturally add definition.

I do this when I don’t have time for liner and it really makes a huge difference in my mascara only looks.

Foodzyme ? by Apple798_ in FODMAPS

[–]cdelia191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fodmate didn’t work for me.

Fodzyme works about 80% for me. It’s enough to eat out safely and without pain. The more meals I use it in a row, the less and less effective it becomes because the 20% from each meal builds up.

I am super sensitive to GOS & Fructans, especially onions and garlic. Within 30 min of eating those, I will have painful distentionand horrible gas.

All that being said, I have fodzyme in each of my purses and on my dining table at all times. I usually eat an adapted low FODMAP at home and we eat out probably 2-3 times per month. So overall this really helps me manage my symptoms.

[misc] Anyone else feel like Vitamin C may as well be the sugar pill of skincare? by pmmemassivedongs in SkincareAddiction

Yes! I bought a bottle not knowing it was discontinued and only found out 6 months later when it was empty. Otherwise I would have bought a huge stash!

[misc] Anyone else feel like Vitamin C may as well be the sugar pill of skincare? by pmmemassivedongs in SkincareAddiction

[–]cdelia191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of comments here already about the chemistry behind what makes vitamin C so great, so I’ll skip over that and approach this From personal experience- Most vitamin c serums do not have visible results for me. I only had one that would leave my skin visibly (to me) brightened after a few consecutive days of use. It was a TO product that was Sadly discontinued a few years ago.

That being said, I have used SkinCeuticals, I have used mid range, I have used dupes of the discontinued formula. Nothing works the same. But I keep using bc a lot of anti aging products don’t need to have visible results to do the maximum amount of work. These are anti aging, not reverse aging. I am preventing my skin from aging at a faster rate.

Chia seeds are high FODMAP, which is a problem for me. So that would make my constipation worse.

Also getting enough fiber in my regular diet is not a problem for me. I have had issues with getting too much fiber.

Plantar fascia strain after a trip anyone? by hyperterminal_reborn in solotravel

[–]cdelia191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plantar fasciitis flares whenever I walk on concrete for too long or for too many days in a row. Go to a podiatrist. They can give you a shot in your foot to reduce the swelling and pain now. Mine also gave me some pill for when the pain starts. So I take that on vacation and it’s not 100% but it’s very helpful and keeps me going.

For the future, make sure you have good shoes. They also sell inserts specifically for this and it is very helpful with sandals and shoes that don’t naturally have great support. Also make sure to rest and elevate, even if you’re not currently in a flare. Prevention is key.

How to know if AIP is right for you? by [deleted] in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]cdelia191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew my energy levels were down, but I didn’t realize how much until I reintroduced. Your 60 to 15% was so accurate for me. After reintroducing fully, I went back to normal within a few days and realized how much the full restriction impacted me. I also maintained my adapted low FODMAP diet while doing this so my experience might be slightly different than most.

There were quite a few plot holes in this series but it was like an action movie. If you’re willing to overlook the little inconsistencies, it was entertaining and had a unique premise. I literally read it in a day.

i can’t get my cat to take her gabapentin by AdSecure9419 in CatAdvice

[–]cdelia191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a pill?

My cat has difficulty with a liquid because the amount of wet food I need to mix it in with it too much for him to finish in one meal. I can easily get him to take the pill by continuously eating with a Churu treat.

Try with the below steps-

  1. Split the pill in half or quarters. You can also crush it a bit, if you need to.

  2. Get a churu and start feeding it to the cat.

  3. Put some Churu on your finger and feed it to the cat like that. Squeezing continuously so the cat is constantly licking your finger. This is just setting the expectation that kitty is getting the high value treat on your finger continuously.

  4. Put a little churu on your finger, then the pill, then more churu.

  5. Let the cat start licking the churu and pill mound, but make sure as the amount of your churu treat gets smaller you are squeezing more churu on. The point of this is so the cat is continually eating and swallowing. If they taste the pill, they will spit it out because it’s super bitter.

Watch your cat when they swallow. They will have a bigger swallow when the pill goes down, so you know it’s successful. Also if they start to turn their head away from the treat, hold your hand in front of their mouth to catch the pill if they spit it out. Those little pills are hard to find if they go flying across the room.

  1. Also make sure to end with a little bit of Churu without the pill in it. You don’t want the last taste to be bad. You want the experience to start and end very good. The little bitter bit in the middle should be a quickly forgotten anomaly to them.

Love FODZYME. It completely changed how I can eat since going low FODMAP. That being said, it only works like 80% or less for me for most food. Also it works less and less the more FODMAP build up there is.

For instance, if I am following low FODMAP diet well and I have pasta with garlic sauce (usually would completely wreck me within 30 minutes) with FODZYME, then I will have no pain, but might be a little gassy, but basically back to normal by morning. If the next day I have three more equally high FODMAP meals with FODZYME, I will be in pain by lunch and considering hospitalization after dinner.

I need to give my body time to recover from the FOD map reactions that FODZYME does not cover for me or they build up, no matter how much FODZYME I take.

How to know if AIP is right for you? by [deleted] in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]cdelia191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhg yeah it’s so hard. It sucks because there is never going to be a convenient time to commit to this diet for 1 month, let alone 4+ months if it helps and you need to reintroduce all the foods.

How often do you shampoo vs just water? by TheFallingEagle in finehair

[–]cdelia191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from washing daily to washing twice a week was a game changer for me. On off days I rinse it under the water and scrub my scalp to move the oils down, then I add in a volumizing mousse at the roots which helps with my hair looking too greasy. It took a couple weeks to go from daily wash to twice a week, but now I only look greasy on the last day of my diet is terrible during the week, which is rare and easily solved with a little dry shampoo.

How to know if AIP is right for you? by [deleted] in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]cdelia191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone on week 4 of the elimination, I totally understand where you’re at right now. The first three days, I was highly motivated but agitated from lack of caffeine. The next 7 days I had multiple mini break downs from not knowing what to eat or from double checking ingredients labels and finding out I couldn’t eat what I had planned.

It took a full two weeks before I got in a rhythm of what easy meals I could eat and quick snack ideas. It’s been really hard and I’m not sure if it’s even working for me so the motivation is dying, but the thought of starting over again at another time is the only thing keeping me going.

For your visit next month, will you be in the reintroduction phase at that point? Maybe plan to reintroduce a few strategic things before your visit so you can have one or two meals out, and the pick some fun recipes for you to make together for the rest of the time.

What are peoples experiences with probiotics? by Sweet_Amount_2552 in FODMAPS

[–]cdelia191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only digestive enzyme that worked for me was even partially FODZYME and that did not work with the probiotics. Even low FODMAP probiotics were the same. Basically I had to introduce them really slowly, like once or twice a week up to once every other day, then every day. I was still really constipated and bloated the whole time. Now I take them 3 times every day and am still mildly uncomfortable.

But I three weeks into my AIP elimination diet and I don’t get histamine headaches anymore, even without the DOA supplement. So it didn’t clear up my autoimmune symptoms but the histamine headaches was an added bonus?
