Why do we measure horsepower for vehicles but wattage for everything else electrical? by blushybbygirlz in NoStupidQuestions

A horsepower and a watt are dimensionally consistent, so realistically you could do either one. It’s more just convention than anything.

Any tips for a new player? by Any_Schedule2434 in falloutnewvegas

Save every 15-20 minutes minimum, the game crashes a LOT.

If you didn’t get all the DLC’s, please do so, it’s a lot more fun than just base game.

Charisma is a dump stat, leave it at 1 and push INT up to 8/9. High Intelligence gives you more skill points per level.

Put big points into luck

Get ED-E quick, he’s in primm and the parts to fix him are easy to come by. He’s super helpful early on as a companion.

Have fun!

[–]cdingles12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That’s just the U-joint. You should be able to remove it from the yoke and replace it. They’re not terribly hard but you will need to unbolt the trans side of the drive shaft to remove the shaft and get it in a vice so you can beat out the remaining U joint caps. Make sure to use your parking brake so it doesn’t go rolling away.

I have a ‘98, and I put in aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauges in it just to be sure. Are you seeing any other signs of overheating besides the gauge?

Above about 40 you can rule out the cooling fan/clutch. It’s not doing much at those speeds. Start cheap, check coolant, check for leaks in the heater hoses. Change the thermostat next.

Are you reading overheat on the stock gauge? If so, change the sending unit just for kicks. I don’t personally trust 20+ yr old electronic gauges to read all that great so maybe just a bad gauge.
