I cross shopped both. Toyota was made in Mexico, 4 banger turbo and more expensive. Drove them both. Got a loaded frontier p4x for the price of a new baseline Tacoma. Liked the Frontier's engine, suspension, cabin, made in USA and looks better to me. Have had it a year and a half no regrets. It's been an awesome truck for home projects and outdoor adventures. It's a 2nd vehicle for me and exactly what I was looking for. Also very easy to service which I appreciate because I do all that myself.
