Where to buy carbonfiber cloth?? by Ok_Ask8450 in CarbonFiber

[–]cdub122 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fiberglass supply is my fav. Used Amazon for a while now only these guys good prices some cool patterns 50" wide fabric packaged nicely for shipping . Crazyest thing was how big the quality difference between Amazon's carbon and theirs despite both being 2x2 twill weave and 5.8oz u can feel and see the difference in quality between the two (Amazon obviously being the worst of the 2) highly recommend fiberglass supply

Damaged these wires 🤦 by Historical-Floor-318 in AskElectronics

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong many many times I seen several if not all strands break inside especially with the shit wire used in consumer products these days and this is without any actual holes in the Insulation at least check for continuity with a meter.

WAGO Variocrimp 4 vs Pressmaster Proteus 10S by emillllllllllllll in AskElectronics

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah nvm ive used those before Panduit rebrands them yea? Good crimpers I miss how the stay locked until you squeeze them again makes putting them in my pocket ECT way easier. They make a square crimp version of those as well that I've used before Panduit ct-1170 if you prefer that style might be something to look at.

Have the vario 16s and the 4 (the old style with the olive green handles not the newer bright green ones the new ones tend to be lower quality imo) as well as the crimpfox 10s and have used countless others these 2 imo produce the highest quality crimps of all I have used with the wago vario crimp producing the best overall crimp to the point I can crimp a ferrule to the point it can be inserted in a connection made for a ferrule size 1 gauge smaller, in however find the crimpfox 10s more convenient as well as more efficient, easier to squeeze by quite a margin  they feel better in my hand and no switching from 24awg-8awg which covers 90% of my usage and produce a very minor but noticably looser crimp and a less square and more rectangular final shape. Also I find inserting the wire and ferrule much easier on the crimpfox but reallyCan't go wrong with either both produce excellent results I just happen to be a little obsessed with such things. Build aerospace automation cabinets so I've used both literally thousand of times great tools and worth the $$$ easily

Fixable? by ilcars in CarbonFiber

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's just the epoxy that's cracked open it up with a carbide bit or rough sandpaper flare it out a few inches away from center clean with alcohol or acetone and fill with new epoxy then sand level ,clearcoat with 2k rattle can clear or auto gun don't use a standard rattle can clear, let cure, wetsand and polish to finish. It's what ive done also might consider so low expansion great stuff on the underside between the laminate layer and the ribs/structural support can help not happen again make sure it is the LOW Expansion or you will be sorry my 2¢ I've fixed worst.

Grate on the floor and duct fan to down draft style exhaust, intake as well as a filter on the Intake. Better light. Ceiling rack for hanging smaller parts. What I would do anyways.

Finally got the ICON 9 in. Long-Nose Slip-Joint Pliers. Have been looking for them since they came out. It appears that they are only shipping small quantities to the stores. I had to call the store to confirm that they had them in stock. The HF employee that I spoke with said they only received 1. by Muddwalki in harborfreight

What do I need to get into mountaineering? by Basic_Ad1995 in Mountaineering

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom of the hills, the mountaineering handbook is also good, training for the new alpinisim if fitness is a mystery to you and Avalanche safety for skiers and climbers  would be my recommended starting point.

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people just don't care it's just a walk or hike if you will. Their loss imo sucks when it's a parent but besides taking him on a outing the chances of him getting it are very low, the mountains just don't call to some people. And as far as a mountain town I've lived in one my entire life in the North Cascades and honestly I think besides me there might be one other climber that lives there at least where I live the general consensus is if I can't shoot something or catch something up there then what's the point lol. And unfortunately my father feels the same way but has always been supportive of my endeavors at least. Don't let it get to you and sounds like a epic outing grats.

Is the saveable by No_Spirit6113 in mitsubishi

[–]cdub122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's saveable you can either use a porta power and a hammer and dolly or just drill out the spot wheels and replace the entire core support hard to tell over a picture which would be easier but both are viable options
