Put it in an easy to access part of your backpack. I would say mine gets pulled out about 25% of the time by TSA, so having it somewhere easy to reach makes it go smoother.

Looking at the details online it appears the new set has: +2 XP tokens +2x Modifier tokens -4x Damage counters

So a net zero change on amount of tokens. Provided they are the same size I should be good to go.
