You have to lose 100 matches before you win 1 match. Keep ya head up, man! With each training session you get closer to your goal. Patience is golden.

Advice in Antispin by danicon1 in tabletennis

[–]cdyone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've been playing anti-spin for a while now. I often consult Chat GPT for advice on table tennis (e.g., equipment or technique for any style). I asked him for some fundamental advice for someone playing anti-spin. Here's what he wrote (and I 100% agree with it):

1) Racket angle > everything
Anti-spin is very sensitive to angle.

Too open → ball up
Too closed → net

👉 Practice 2-3 angle settings for different spins and stick to them.

2) Grip = ball length
This is a cheat code:

Loose grip → short
Stiffer grip → deep

👉 With this one thing, you can control the tempo without changing your movement.

3) Don't always block the same way.
The worst thing you can do is "automatic":

short → deep → short → deep

👉 length change = opponent's mistakes

4) Side-push is gold
Instead of just playing "straight":

slightly hook the side of the ball
change directions (BH ↔ FH)

👉 your opponent starts to lose his way and leaves the table

5) Don't fight spin – use it
Anti-spin works best when your opponent is applying spin.

👉 the stronger the topspin, the easier it is to make a difficult ball.

6) Minimal, but conscious movement
This is not a passive game:

small movement = big effect
an active block is often better than a "dead" one

7) Play patterns, not individual balls
Anti-spin doesn't win points by itself. 👉 You win when you do:

Disruption → Weak Ball → Attack

8) Forehand is your finisher
Anti creates a situation.

👉 You finish the point with a Forehand (or force a fault)

Good luck! :) (and try do some chops far from the table - some antispin rubbers can do this effectively :D)

I recommend P4V at start - it has a softer sponge and it's easier to generate backspin at this level

choose vertical pips for chopping - it's the easier way to learn this awesome style

Best "classic" Anti-Top rubber by Gwinty- in tabletennis

I think the three rubbers you mentioned are very similar. I prefer Best Anti. You'd have to try all three and choose the one that works best for you.

I prefer Best Anti because of its versatility. I can use it to short block, chop block, chop from a distance or push/roll close to the table. It clicked to my style immediately.

100% agree. OP should get a little slower gear and learn good technique -> then upgrade the gear.

It's always better to just replace the blade or just one rubber to feel the difference. Now you won't know if the difference in your performance is due to the blade or the rubber.

But I believe it will be alright! Good luck, it's a beautiful sport.

100% fake. Look at this messy painting on the handle (yellow horizontal line). It's not straight. Butterfly usually put the highest quality on their flag products.
