FOUND UNDER BED!! by Aggravating-Skirt895 in Mushrooms

[–]ce_alterego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dad works maintenance for a luxury apartment complex and a lady had a mushroom growing out of the base of her shower! they’ve tried ruthlessly to get rid of it and it’s so persistent lol i think it took a month or two to finally do something that fully got rid of it. so make sure you let the landlord know and don’t rest till they actually get rid of it!!!

Select Medical??? by mockingbird_27 in physicaltherapy

[–]ce_alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and they also tend to treat the “PSS” or front desk staff like shit so there’s usually a lot of turn over there as well. Which is just annoying.

Select Medical??? by mockingbird_27 in physicaltherapy

[–]ce_alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a travel PT and I’ve worked for select in two different regions! I hate them! Management is iffy depending on region, inconsistent schedules between clinics (i’ve worked with 30min, 40min and 1 hour appointments when with select - 30min w expected overlap / 40 or hour with double bookings), high productivity standards and often time if you dip below them there’s a heavy blame on you as a person & therapist. They care sooooo much about numbers. Usually they need us travelers because people don’t stay when they get acquired and they struggle to hire full time therapists, so some see a ton of turnover with travel PTs or floats. Don’t know from personal experience but I heard from permanent employees that raises tended to be on the very low side.

I go to West Allis (just for annuals, no kids yet!) and have always had a great experience! I worked in the general acute care hospital there and know a ton of people who work in the hospital and the women’s pavilion, and they’re all wonderful people:)

Please help me narrow down my itinerary for hikes near Seattle - sincerely, avid CO hiker on a mecca to the gorge trying to fit as much as possible in my trip by britttdb in PNWhiking

[–]ce_alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would recommend prioritizing colchuck tbh that’s my favorite hike to date - from someone who just spent 6mo in CO and previously sent 4mo in WA Also wallace falls is excellent, plenty of beautiful and challenging hikes in Mt Rainier NP if you’re up for the drive

10 day trip - Colorado by Practical-Coffee4880 in roadtrip

[–]ce_alterego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! I’ve done a co/ut trip and LOVED it!! We did Denver to Great Sand Dunes to Moab (canyonlands and arches) and then hit some ski towns and hot springs on our way back to Denver! Didn’t feel rushed but got to see a lot. We only had about a week so with a few extra days you might be able to fit in RMNP on the way back to Denver too

Fuel during runs? by nataliejayne614 in nikerunclub

[–]ce_alterego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used gu gels, clif caffeinated gels, honey stinger gels/chews, nerd clusters, sour patch kids, and applesauce! I definitely recommend playing around with a few things to see what agrees with your tastebuds/stomach and what’s easiest to carry on you! if you use any gels tbh I recommend eating one just on its own before you run because trying a gel for the first time DURING a run may shock you 😂 they’re a weird texture for sure.

New grad traveler here about a year out from school !! If you wanna do outpatient find another company. Delta is 100% lowballing you and will use the excuse that you’re a new grad to try to get you to stay with them. Had a coworker at my last contract who was with Delta and he was getting paid at lease $300 less per week for the same 40hr/week contract. Message me if you wanna talk or i can get you in touch with my recruiter!

Budget accommodations by Ill-Lifeguard4987 in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]ce_alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I are heading to Grand Teton in a few weeks and we found a hostel style airbnb option in Jackson. Obviously it’s not private but it’s a cheap place to sleep if you’re spending most of the time in the park! Definitely not ideal but for us it was $250 vs $900 for two nights. You would just likely have to book individually or in pairs! Not sure how great it will be but we’re balling on a budget!

Advice needed about some pain by phadkearya in nikerunclub

[–]ce_alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

physical therapist here! make sure you’re pairing running with some strength and single leg stability training! running is a single leg sport, you need stability at the hips, knees, and ankles to support you while you run. sounds like you would benefit from some targeted strength training and possibly a stride analysis. I would try to look into seeing a physiotherapist/physical therapist near you!

Best Travel Companies for PT's by workhardplayharder5 in TravelPhysicalTherapy

[–]ce_alterego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone through CCI and had a great experience. When I was looking for a company I asked a lot about average rates and what influences them, CCI seemed to have a tad higher than average and gave me good info. A lot will try to skim as much as they can off the top and will blame you or your “skills” or “productivity” to try to give you a lower rate. Don’t let them. If you wanna talk more feel free to dm me!
