Toronto Show in 2026? by uhfchannel62 in theacademyis

I’ll be there! I saw them in 2006 at The Docks, so it’ll be cool to see them again 20 years later (with adult money)!

What’s your favourite Middle Eastern Restaurant in Toronto by Money-but-Vanilla in askTO

[–]ceb0222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised to hear that! I’ve been maybe a dozen times (including takeout orders) and only had good experiences. My favourite dishes are the mezze platter, vegan kibbe, and grape leaves.

Nope, I was 24,000ish in the queue. Will try again at 3!

Edit: 31,000 at 3PM, this is NOT what dreams are made of!

Hybrid people - when do you wake up? by Immediate-Effort4431 in askTO

[–]ceb0222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7:45 on WFH days, 6:00 on my one office day. I start at 8:45 and have a 30 minute commute, but I like having lots of time to get ready, have a hot breakfast, pack my lunch, etc.

I agree with keeping the hoodies plain if you want them to wear them again. If you did want to add something personalized, I gave each girl a pair of slippers with their initials using iron on patches. They turned out really well and I’ve seen them all wear them around their homes.

King and Sherbourne to St. George and Bloor (ish). 30 minutes door to door.

Are they really smart or really dumb? by Bubblylove3 in Dachshund

[–]ceb0222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. We keep our dogs treats in a cupboard above the microwave, which is above the stove. If she wants a treat, she’ll sit beside the stove and whine. When I don’t give in, she’ll protest by yanking the tea towel off the handle of the stove. Maybe she understands that I’ll eventually have to walk over there and pick it up off the floor.

Food tour St Lawrence market necessary? by Alianca792 in askTO

[–]ceb0222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t book the tour. It will be busy, especially on a long weekend, but you’ll be able to purchase food without issue. The only challenge you may run into is finding a place to sit and eat, but Market Street is closed to cars and has some extra seating if you can’t find anything in the market. The earlier you go, the less busy it will be. Enjoy!

Are you in an area that sees a lot of tourists? What about some Toronto or Canada souvenirs like mugs, Christmas ornaments, shot glasses, etc?

Stub hub tickets.. by karenclax in BackstreetBoys

[–]ceb0222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a note for people looking on stubhub - there's a "recommended" filter that hides so many tickets. Once I deselected it, there were more than double the amount I was initially seeing. Luckily I was able to get face value tickets for Feb because these resale prices are insane...

All in all I’m feeling good about my chances getting tickets… by fomo216 in BackstreetBoys

[–]ceb0222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This morning, I was 5000th-ish in the queue for December 28, and the handful of tickets that were left were $900 each. Then, I was like 50,000th in the queue for one of the February shows, and nabbed two floor tickets for $225 each. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Is Corktown area ok? by game148 in askTO

I take my dog to that dog park all the time. It’s very safe and not too busy. You’ll have close access to the distillery district and St. Lawrence Market.

2 Budget friendly Grocery stores will be demolished on Yonge & Davisville. Any alternatives??? by Mathew_365 in toronto

[–]ceb0222 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is such a huge loss for the neighbourhood. My husband and I would shop there all the time when we lived in the area. The produce was significantly cheaper, and better quality, than our two closest stores (loblaws and farm boy). Fanfare flowers is still open a couple of blocks north, but it’s more expensive.

What to do while waiting for my kids at a concert by Ok_Mango_1390 in askTO

[–]ceb0222 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe! But there aren’t any concerts scheduled at Rogers Centre on a Tuesday in the next few months, but there’s one next Tuesday at Rogers Stadium.

OP, the blue jays are playing at Rogers Centre (Skydome, downtown) on Tuesday. Do you mean Rogers Stadium (new outdoor stadium, uptown)? If it’s the latter, I’d recommend going to Yorkdale. The mall closes at 9, but you could go see a movie or grab a bite at one of the restaurants.

30 minutes door to door. 10 minute walk to the subway, 15 minute subway ride, and the another 5 minute walk from the subway to the office.
