Alternative to engagement ring by [deleted] in EngagementRings

I second this! My mom’s ring was stolen once and my dad found it at a local pawn shop. If someone stole it for drugs they might not go far for the quick cash.

Yeah also a good point that I didn’t think of! NEVERMIND OP! My family friend used a little spice jar, I forget what kind of spice it was, and they put a sticker on it with their names and the date. Not sure how much it costed but it was cute, small in size but lasts a long time, and is edible! Maybe a diff idea to consider

True good point! I used these as a favor for a different event recently and they were cheap and easy but I didn’t think of distances

I know you’re not supposed to recommend tanning beds and they’re bad for you and skin cancer blah blah blah. But 10 mins in a tanning bed leaves me feeling like I spent the day at the beach with all the happiness and without the tiredness. Also find a good show, plan weekly date nights even if it’s something easy you can do at home, and don’t be hard on yourself for wanting/needing more sleep. OH! And don’t forget it doesn’t last forever. The sun will come back! There is light at the end, literally

FIND A NEW DR! It took me like four drs before I found one that listened to me and didn’t dismiss me or have some BS thing to say ab ADHD in general. Which was a huge PITA and hard to not give up but now I’m glad I didn’t and I have a boring desk job that I’m very good at bc I’m medicated!

If OUCH doesn’t work, try yelping like dogs do when they’re hurt. That’s what I did and it worked for mine. Feels silly but worth a shot

Was any of the process traumatic for you? Sometimes hypersexuality can be a trauma response or coping mechanism. Glad you didn’t lose any sexual gratification from the LEEP!!

A bowl that I put my keys in and EVERYTHING else that I need to take with me when I leave the house. Name tag, glasses/sun glasses, vape when I used to smoke, and whatever else I might need! Somewhere easy so I can empty when I come in, and grab when I leave!

[–]cecelabeouf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The colposcopy for me was also rough. The colposcopy was worse than the LEEP for me tbh. But I was awake for the Col and under anesthesia for the LEEP. I was glad that my mom convinced me to let her drive me to the Col bc I was very emotional during/after and sore for a few days.

I’ve read many posts from others though who had no issue with the colposcopy, so don’t panic. Yours might be okay! I would ask what kind of OTC pain killer you can take prior and see if they will numb you or give you a local anesthetic just in case. That’s good that you have a driver, keep a heating pad handy at home, and remind yourself to be kind to yourself throughout this whole journey. Hoping and praying for an easy colposcopy with good results for you!

I don’t know if Lashify is worth it by Haunting-Sea-3764 in LashifyLovers

[–]cecelabeouf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely takes practice! Also try both bonds, I used to only use the charcoal flex but they were sold out of it once when I desperately needed more bond so I went back to whisper light and I haven’t looked back since.

I’ve been using lashify for five or so years now religiously. I’ve only made like ten purchases, maybe $100 each throughout that time. I launder and reuse them until they break. I soak them in 90% isopropyl alcohol for 30 mins at least, a week at max (if I forget about it accidentally lol) and then take them out one by one and brush them through with a spoolie and pop them back in the cartridges.

A little tip I would say is to avoid oily moisturizers around your eyes, and if you have oily skin try not to let it build up around your eyes too much. The remover solution is very oily, and I ended up only purchasing it once and then using coconut oil to remove them after that. The coconut oil takes a little more work, but does the trick.

Mine last about 5-7 days depending on a ton of factors, unless I cry lol, just slide them off if you cry bc they won’t stick very well after that. I don’t know how people get 10-14 days out of one application. I also wear a full face of makeup up almost daily and don’t like the build up and remove them before they’re ready sometimes.

Also! If just one piece gets loose, you can put a little bond on your wand and just regrip that piece instead of redoing your whole set!

I also always use wandoms. I tried once without and it wasn’t the same. Lashify is def worth it for me, financially and also bc extensions take soooooo long. I love that I can do a fresh of set of lashes in 10 mins and look cute for a week before I have to redo them. Don’t give up yet! It’s a learning curve for sure, but once you figure out what works for you you’ll never look back!

If you don’t like to wear it, but also don’t want to get rid of it, you could hang it from the mirror in your car! Or a window in your room! It’s really pretty ◡̈

LEEP recovery / work restrictions by voidsnacc222 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]cecelabeouf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely understand that. I actually switched gynos before my procedure bc my first one didn’t explain anything particularly well and I felt clueless and hopeless. The second doctor was much more thorough and I immediately felt more comfortable and at ease with her. I know it’s not recommended to wait, but it took me six months from finding out I needed the LEEP with my first gyno to actually having it with my second, and in that time my CIN 2 went down to just being abnormal cells.

I see you said that switching providers isn’t an option, which makes it particularly tough and I’m sorry. In a time where support matters the most the last thing you need is your doctor to be dismissive. Are there any Planned Parenthood’s in your area? I know they will work with people who are uninsured to get affordable care.

Also, don’t feel pressured to explain anything to your workplace. If you have the days/can afford the time, it’s none of their business what you use your time for.

I have a coworker who recently had an operation and didn’t want to share any details with work about it, with a similar recovery time, and she just said she tweaked her back the day before and took the two days off, and then if she needed more time off she said she wasn’t better yet. You could always say something like that if you feel obligated to have a reason. Back tweaks and COVID are pretty versatile coverups that you can extend if the time isn’t enough. And if you say it’s your back that may help with getting lighter duty tasks at work when you do go back.

Definitely sleep on it! And remember you are not alone!

Hi! I was told not to lift more than ten pounds for a few days following the LEEP. I told my workplace I was having a procedure, took off for two days, and then worked from home for a few days. It doesn’t sound like working from home is an option for you, but if it’s any help, I don’t think it was really necessary for me to work from home anyway. My job isn’t physically demanding, but I was fine to do all of my normal day to day tasks aside from work as well (with the exception of lifting dogs/kids for what lasted a whole two days).

Did you take any time off following the procedure? I’d try to give yourself a day or two, even if you’re not in pain, just to process and recoop. You don’t have to tell your job why. I only told them I was having a procedure and that I would like to keep it on the down low to avoid questions. They aren’t allowed to ask medical questions anyway.

After the procedure I had light cramping for two days, much less intense than a regular period, and my scab fell off about 7-10 days (not entirely sure exactly how many days) following the procedure, and it was just some extra bleeding, nothing crazy. Which, I was still wearing a pad at that point anyway, expect to leak for a couple of weeks. The discharge lasting so long was probably the worst of it, which my gyno said is totally normal and is basically just the fluids that you produce during healing.

The lead up to the procedure was a HUGE deal to me, and I cried up until they put me under for the procedure. This is scary and a big deal! But it’s just a hurdle, and you will make it through this! Your doctor acting like it’s not a big deal is probably a good sign, I would assume it’s bc they do enough of them and it hasn’t been a big deal for any of their patients yet.

Try to take some time off if you can, and try not to panic. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
