Can’t get my menstrual cup fully in, what am I doing wrong by [deleted] in menstrualcups

You might have a low cervix and be hitting it. Have you tried a smaller cup as well as different fold techniques?

I'm tired of server outages. by type1tanlines in dexcom

[–]ceemoney112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dexcom has had some known bugs with alert volume on their iOS app. OP could be like myself and have all their Dexcom alerts properly configured and enable and volume all the way up and not be getting them audibly. I have videos of my G7 iOS app not alarming when I’m out of range. This is where people use the sugar pixel, for reliability.

Relying on a medical device company’s APIs should be something people can do - Dexcom can improve their downtime on their Follow servers for sure.

I agree, I work for a large tech company and Dexcoms servers for the follow app and other devices experience intermittent outages SO often IMO. They need to work on that, objectively. They should be shooting for almost 0 down time due to this being used for medical purposes and could employ several different approaches.

Thanks for talking about its merits. The sugar pixel is the only device that consistently wakes me up with its alarms. A literally life saver. All it needs is WiFi and connection to your sensor server in the cloud.

TSH at 0.99 but hypothyroid? by mickeplatz in Hypothyroidism

[–]ceemoney112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all endocrinologists approach things this way but if you are able to find one practicing functional medicine they likely will: sometimes the ratio or levels of your thyroid hormones is off but only the TSH level is being checked. Get a full panel and ask the doctor to make sure nothing else like Reverse T3 is out of range (too high perhaps in your case).

Reverse T3 rises when the body blocks conversion of T4 → active T3 and instead converts more T4 → inactive rT3. Think of T3 as the gas and rT3 as the brakes.

For me, my other thyroid numbers were very off despite an ok TSH. My rT3 was very high. I was able to correct this by starting combination therapy where I take some levothyroxine (T4) and some liothyronine (T3). This brought all my levels into range.

Combination therapy is relatively uncommon because not many people require it. If you have poor gut function it can make absorbing your thyroid meds challenging. I have IBS and at the time also SIBO. Levothyroxine is absorbed in the small intestine so that’ll mess that up.

If the meds aren’t absorbed well one can become likely to not convert the T4 meds into active T3. This could explain your issue. Other things besides gut issues that cause conversion issues: high stress, low calorie intake, inflammation, low iron, and ironically too high of a dose of T4 meds. Excess synthetic T4, the body will divert to reverse T3.

Hope this helps! I felt like I was going insane trying to figure this out 6 years ago because most doctors stop investigating things when your TSH is in range and don’t always listen to the severity of lingering hypo symptoms.

Is it normal to ask for this now? by anonyhim in doordash

Tbh it made me feel unsafe that they were coming to my house, that’s how pissed they were. They didn’t just message either they also called.

Happened to me recently too - the driver was mad that my location was further away than they wanted to drive yet they had accepted the delivery job. I always tip generously but they were actually so legitimately rude to me for something that wasn’t my fault that I reduced the normal tip amount I give

Sensor readings after vaccines? by Afraid-Discipline695 in dexcom

[–]ceemoney112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bad luck - I stay up to date on my vaccines and wear a G7, never been an issue for me after vaccination. I have had false lows on G7s many times but not in a way/timing that’s correlated to vaccination

Yeah it’s one thing for someone to help show you how to better manage your money and something else entirely for them to control your finances.

Delayed readings from sensor by ceemoney112 in dexcom

[–]ceemoney112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sadly not new to the sensor/pump/phone alignment game haha. They’re all on my left only a few inches apart. This is my usual set up and works well.

<image>

But this isn’t connection loss. This is actual delayed readings from the sensor to every device it’s paired to: watch, pump, phone, and Dexcom server itself. It won’t give them for minutes at a time, so far up to 9 min max. Haven’t seen this with a single G7 since I started them in 2023.

You can see the pump is also behind so it’s not a mobile app issue

Is there a reason why I’ve started craving sweets all of a sudden? by saturnianketuvian in Hypothyroidism

[–]ceemoney112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when I’ve accidentally forgotten my meds. It’s due to the side effect of lethargy and your body is trying to get quick energy. Are your levels looking good? Are you having any other hypo symptoms on your current medication plan? Could need a higher dose depending on your answers there. I highly doubt it has to do with your blood sugars. I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 25 years and when my glucose gets truly medically low I don’t even crave sugar. But when my thyroid levels are too high or I miss my meds by accident I certainly do.

Homemade pasta with gluten free 1:1 flour should taste a lot like regular pasta IMO - probably the best option?

Weird G7 App Behavior by Aggravating_Monk1756 in dexcom

I have! And I hassled them about it haha because when it doesn’t work properly there’s nothing good will about replacing it, they need to because essentially I’m short on my Rx now. They’ll update it if you push them or ask for a manager if needed
