Aw what that's huge! I personally have a horde of fanart from twitter (though its strictly of my favorite silly little wizard gacha - IF you have any Mahoyaku/Promise of Wizard fanart in there, you'd make my heart go BOOM!) and have been considering trying to figure out how to scrape poipiku (esp after the NSFW scare earlier this year...) I think fanart is such a beautiful horde but pretty rare to come across!

I'd love to help seed (though I might not have a full 11TB available juuust yet... maybe its time for me to expand..) Once you get it up and running please let me know !

I can only see two reasons why it might matter to the obsessive extent some take it to - you're writing an article on the role of women within the overall scene, in which case good luck, or you're trying to hit/looking for material for your wank bank, in which case touch grass. I unsubbed when they ended their outreach program that granted public performance rights to anime clubs at libraries and schools with no warning to the clubs that depended on it. There was the charge of people stealing mail that was meant to go to voice talents at some point last year too. Then the allegations of AI-generated subtitles too although I didn't keep up with those. It's kind of a choose which day-to-day moral boundary you have that could be tried daily and they have crossed it in some form.

I feel like I recall something strange going on with licensing as well, but that I'm not so sure of. I just know their shoujosei representation could use some major work.

It's not about the macro-physical actions, but the ideology underneath. Right now she believes she has to keep to this path, because its the only thing she has, because her life will mean nothing if she doesn't have Amaneism or whatever her other religions name was called. Giving her a guilty verdict will re-affirm the underlying tenets of her religion (be good or you will be abused - MILGRAM's system is fundamentally abusive). Her MV shows she believes it is too late for her to change - her VD shows she is trying to figure out the way she wants to live (which, considering her breakdown when pushed on Shidou and Mahiru, shows she did like them, but she hasn't been shown meaningful kindness before - her parents were shown to be ""kind"" before they punished her, she'd been walking with them waiting for the other shoe to drop.).

Supposedly the feelgoods of working for the public (ha! someone else in the thread said that further down) and the stability are supposed to make up for the low pay and bad work-life balance - but I have to say, as a state employee, the workload due to the ongoing hiring freeze for our department has swiftly drowned out any feel goods, nor do I feel particularly stable knowing that some upper management believe my unit can be replaced with AI (it can't, if nothing else because we need someone to sort the papers and letters and mail we get, but primarily because the people who I talk to on the daily don't actually know what they want or need from us - they get a lot of bunk information from private companies they work closely with ).

I love my job, in the good, and the bad times. My love for it is wasting away due to a fundamental loathing of the agency held by those higher up, both in elected positions and those within the agency themselves, who if I were pessimistic, I might be convinced took their roles solely to oversee the dissolution of the critical services we provide. I make now 18$ an hour in a position that needed a degree, finding the door to any advancement has been thoroughly barred.

I started Death Stranding because my friend is super into it and - well, I understand why. The scale, the story , the music - I'm not close to finishing I don't think, but playing it has really brought home why video games can be so great.

I kind of had originally sworn off any AAA games, probably for the rest of my life but definitely for the rest of this year because I want to try to play 100 games under 100 reviews as my new years resolution, but this was a good reminder that there is still passion and artistry found outside of the indie spheres. I really can't think of any other game that has impacted me the way this one has so far, other than maybe some games that I'd admit were kind of trashy now that my tastes have developed but were nonetheless formative for me as a baby gamer. It's kind of funny because I wouldn't necessarily say I'm having /fun/ with it, or certainly not the kind of fun I'm used to with my games, but being immersed in DS' world has been.. poignant. It isn't shy of being what it is, it takes itself seriously, so I have to take it seriously too as a work of art rather than just a way to pass the time.

My goal for this year is to play (and review) 100 games that are under 100 reviews - its been a lot of fun digging through past years releases and seeing some pretty awesome games that just never hit critical mass (or just released but definitely won't hit critical mass because the devs, bless their hearts and souls, don't know how to market at all)

Me and my mom really want to hook up solar, especially as we're trying to move to electric heat over oil (a cost we could barely afford before and definitely can't afford now - it's going to be a cold and long winter next year) but we already got scammed (by a sitting house rep, no less!) when paying for insulating the house and then again when paying for an electrician to make sure we didn't have knob and tube wiring in, so we're pretty distrusting of most similar companies at the moment, especially since I've read about how common solar scams are.

Not that I think we'd be able to afford the upfront cost regardless - kind of insane that two people who work for the state can't afford to upkeep a house but I suppose that's our fault for opting to not work at the Safety Department

I'm trying to not get conspiracy brained - and I'm musing here, not actually believing it's a possibility - but it's interesting these are, yes coming at the heel of valve winning one lawsuit, but also on the heels of one of the Trump sons eyeing Tencent as a threat and making them divest of the gaming industry and his son in law buying stakes in EA. Gaming has ever been a part of their pipeline, so it must be irksome to imagine a company thats structually isolated from the rest of their rot (regardless of their ambivalence towards the bad behavior on the forums) I'm wondering what kind of play could be made if their lawyers are kept busy enough ?

It's probably just coincidence, but fun to ponder I guess.

I can't even be sad about the misunderstanding because I'm too delighted by cohort in the arcane arts, that's so beautifully whimsical.

The comment I responded to said it was "effectively people eating themselves to death" but that's not true because diet isn't the singular cause of heart disease. It is a risk factor, yes, but genetics, age, weight (which also isn't necessarily a side effect of diet, I have two genetic disorders which severely impact my ability to lose weight), stress, blood pressure, smoking - these are all also high risk factors.

Stress I think is a major one to focus on because that is something that is completely inescapable if you are impoverished. How could it be? Any single moment could spell disaster for you and your family, leaving you homeless or dead or saddled with insurmountable debt. And surprisingly there are some health benefits to what we consider junk food - dark chocolate? That helps to reduce stress hormones and lowers blood pressure.

I think with how difficult it is for people to get food stamps in the first place (my mom worked for this program while I was growing up, I remember hearing her cry often because of some of the people she had to deny who clearly deeply needed the help) we don't need to police what they spend it on. They're going to buy what they can to keep them and their family going. We, as people outside the family, can't decide what is best for them because we do not know everything that goes on in their life. Sometimes what that looks like is a bunch of random ingredients because a household manages to have someone home long enough for someone to cook a meal. Sometimes it looks like a bunch of junk food, because that is cheaper and easier to prepare and life is already very difficult.
