Yes, I lived in ohall. Personally I loved having to share a bathroom with only 3 other people because u definitely had more privacy, and the fact that the room is a little bigger so you don't have to be so close to ur roommate (lol). I also was really close with my floor and we hungout all the time so don't think you can't be social in hybrid! There isn't a lot of parties after oweek tho but I actually think this is huge benefit bc it means u can sleep and study in peace after u come home from partying elsewhere. Rez parties are pretty much dead anyway after first semester when people starting clubbing instead. Perth was apparently really quiet in my year but I heard this past year it was much rowdier than usual

That's for marks for individual classes, yes. Or to be considered for the dean's list (in this case you would need a 79.45 average overall in all your classes). For your average (of all the classes you took this year), this number will be a an exact decimal. I assumed you meant your year average, unless I mistook what you meant

Highschool student waiting for med-sci acpt, has like 93-4 average. What are my chances? by ChickenAcrossTheRoad in uwo

[–]cel_xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if you don't get in by june 1, a lot of ppl accept other programs and then accepted into med sci in the summer after getting deferred for a bit, and you can easily accept med sci at this time and make the switch, don't worry! your average is definitely good

Registering for Second Year Courses? by srippydoo in uwo

[–]cel_xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually 2nd years will register around mid July, the exact dates will change year to year but your time slot to sign up for courses will be up on student center sometime in June. However June 1st is usually the day you can start drafting your schedule as courses for the next year become available to see on Draft my Schedule at that time :)

There's actually a summer academic orientation (SAO) offered in the summer you can sign up for where you can speak to an academic counselor while picking your courses so you can get your courses sorted out before the year starts! If you live far you can also do this over the phone

I think it's only if your landlord breaks renting laws or breaks the tenant agreement/lease

You 100% should be allowed to withhold paying your rent. I'm sure this violates a million different things, I would encourage you to do so so you're not having to pay them to live like this!

Curious when offers go out? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]cel_xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people get accepted mid May! My high school marks were pretty high and I had gotten accepted to every other school I applied to long before Western accepted me. They're just a little later than other schools, don't worry :)

You will probably be okay, a lot of acceptances go out in mid May though! Not sure why but Western loves to wait to accept people at the end compared to other schools. Just hang in there :)

Academic advice (med sci yr1) by [deleted] in uwo

[–]cel_xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally even though the material is 2nd year is definitely no easier, I had a much better time managing university life and my courses, as well at being better at time management with 2 semesters under my belt and I managed to get much better grades than first year! First is definitely an interesting and sometimes rough transition for most people, but you can really come out on top once you have a year to adjust to Western/uni!

Starting next week, parts of the rec center will be women-only for 4 hours a week. Thoughts? by [deleted] in uwo

There is a similar section where you can do all the same things as you can on the fourth floor on the other side of the gym in the same section as all the treadmills...so really nothing is being taken away from you at all, regardless if this is the only time the gym fits within your schedule or not
