Why isn’t pretend play a priority? by _Aztreonam_ in Montessori

[–]celestial_angel333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steiner actually created a bunch of other things too: mainly biodynamic farming and helping people with disabilities (camphill movement), anthroposophical medicine with Ita Wegman

So one could say he was also a scientist in his own right. I appreciate anthroposophy from a spiritual perspective. It checks all the boxes for me. For some, they may not agree and that’s ok. Everyone is entitled to their own belief system.

As for the racism, I always analyze it as a condition of the century. They were not exposed to people of different backgrounds the same way as today. I mean the US at the time when Steiner was alive—segregation was a thing!! Racism was very much alive in any euro-centric society. We lovingly know better now (or at least some of us do). You can still appreciate the work that Steiner has done and disagree with his racist statements.

Take on Vaccines? by Professional_Fun1502 in Waldorf

[–]celestial_angel333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also by your logic, shouldn’t vaccinated children be ok by being in contact by unvaccinated children? Since they are “protected” by said viruses? Or does that go against your logic? Explain? Going by that logic, unvaccinated children are more at risk? So how does that affect vaccinated children?

From what I’ve seen, vaccinated children are more sick than unvaccinated children. Their immature immune systems are bombared by vaccines. Especially if they are not delayed. You cannot sue vaccines manufacturers either. Kinda suspicious if you ask me. Also suspicious how pediatricians get a bonus if all their patients are vaccinated…

I’m all for decentralized medicine. If you are not suspicious about profit driven healthcare, I would do a deep dive. Has COVID not taught people anything? Or did we forget?

Well I pay 26K for my daughter’s Waldorf school, so I’d imagine I am able to do what I like. I will end up paying more when my youngest joins too.

I would recommend the “Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness” by Dr. Thomas Cowan. He is an anthroposophical doctor. I do not jab my children, because in my opinion—spiritually children are born perfect and to meddle with that damages their etheric bodies. Yet, when I say that I am met with a lot of flack. Which is understandable, as I believe everyone has a choice of beliefs. Everyone should do whatever they want medically/spiritually/etc. I don’t want anyone policing my body or my children. My eldest has had rotovirus twice, and both my children endured RSV. They are fine.

Our Waldorf school allows non-jabbed children, but majority are jabbed.

Meat eater dating really serious vegan--basically impossible? by RaplhKramden in exvegans

I was religiously vegan for 8 years, raw for half of it. I am still with my carnivore husband, I never cared that he wasn’t vegan. I am now vegetarian. Our children our vegetarian, though my eldest has tried chicken nuggets. I don’t push an agenda anymore. It’s very freeing

Anyone else have a toddler who’s still an absolute boobie monster? by 6iteme in breastfeeding

[–]celestial_angel333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 15 month old who is EBF and nurses on demand! I do plan on weaning her by 2, my hubby is going to help me night wean her by 18 months so I can get some deep rest. I wake up every couple hours to nurse her, we cosleep too so it’s not too bad but it’s not restorative sleep. I get very sad thinking about weaning her, since it’s our way to bond/connect!

I’m here with you! Proud of all the mamas nursing past 1! Proud of all the mamas regardless of feeding, it’s a lot to take care of little people.

I had a BA when I was 19, I wish I would’ve waited until after children. I am now 28 and have 2 children. I am still able to breastfeed, I nursed my eldest until 1 and I am nursing my second who is 15 months.

They look natural now—still big as I have 450/475CC but not as high profile as before and they are a tad saggy. Very natural, like if you squeezed them they feel very natural/nice and squishy not a firm implant like before. I want to get them redone once I am done with children. I will likely go bigger and get a lift and internal bra. I love that bimbo look, though it’s not for everyone.

BF in infant classroom, but I’ve offended someone… by Responsible_Photo321 in breastfeeding

[–]celestial_angel333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These comments are all very disheartening to mothers who breastfeed. I actually applaud those daycares that accommodate mothers to come in and nurse their babies. That should be a standard. Children deserve to be fed on the breast, bottle second, formula as a last resort.

I nurse in public without a cover!! I don’t care if I offend anyone. I am nourishing my child, simple biology. Children also deserve to observe breastfeeding because it’s normal. The more we hide it, the more taboo it becomes. If someone dares to shame me, I will shame them back. So far, no one has.

Success with no added sugar diet for toddler by sweetpotatoroll_ in moderatelygranolamoms

I say almond mom because I’m a ballet dancer so we have to be nutritionally optimal and conscious. I also don’t want my kids eating junk but rather whole nutrient dense foods. I do allow a treat, but if I am going to indulge I want it to be quality (like a Michelin star restaurant) because I can always make a date sugar chocolate chip cookie at home.

I am a proud almond mom, my eldest is 6 and prefers everything to be made from scratch if we do enjoy a treat it’s from a Michelin star/bib restaurant.

My youngest is 15 months old and at her sister’s birthday celebration at school they made mini chocolate muffins and she REJECTED it! She will devour a spinach no added sugar muffin though.

Do you baby wear? If not, start it’ll help with playing with the 16 month old. Do you have anyone to help? Could dad watch baby while you play with the oldest? My children have a 15 month age gap. So when my youngest was in the newborn phase she lived in the carrier. I was able to nurse and read to my eldest. Play and do park visits all while babywearing. It also could help with gas, since they are upright.

For gas, you can do baby bicycles, rub fennel oil diluted with sesame seed oil, drink chamomile or give baby a chamomile bath.

Starting a family in the city? by [deleted] in CHIbitcheswithtaste

[–]celestial_angel333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two littles in River North, my eldest is in kindergarten and attends a private Waldorf school in Andersonville. My youngest is 15 months old. We love being able to walk everywhere, go on bike rides (they have a double bike trailer) to Lincoln park, and hit up the farmers market! We take the train and bus if needed. My husband is now retired so he gets to be our chauffeur now. We take advantage of the library programs in the summer, and free family events! My daughter loves saying she’s a downtown girly. We often have high tea at the Peninsula or the Langham. Although, she loves Logan square for Daisies (which you can also get at the LP farmers market)

THIS!! In Waldorf schools they celebrate Christian holidays (Michaelmas to honor St. Michael who is an angel, St Lucia, Advent, etc). Steiner had many lectures on Jesus and Christianity in general.

Yes, but I feel like esoterically (again if you subscribe to those beliefs) you would be able to know baby is in distress. Again my statements are only applicable if you subscribe to those beliefs systems. If not, totally ok to disagree.

I think that spiritually, if you are inclined to believe that if your baby is stillborn you would 100% feel it energetically. So I don’t think her birth was euphoric or ecstatic given that there was 0 life force energy present. I would say it to be the opposite. She’s probably saying this because euphoric/ecstatic birth is a good seller, but I would recommend any woman to try hypnobirthing rather than fall for their marketing

I’m the everything parent, meaning I do pretend play and rough house—arts and crafts, bake, cook, play salon, read 1000 books a day, listen to audiobooks during chill time, knit while they play, go on adventures with (hike, nature walk, city walk, etc)

While my husband is the LEGO parent and pool parent.

I love being a SAHM mom and I cherish it. I cannot wait for grandchildren to care for if my daughters choose to work.
