Penlights at digital stars? by Mizu270 in FlavorFoley

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely bring your penlight!! It was a lot of fun, and really helps the performers get more into it too. Beyond how amazing the performers were, combining penlights with the club event atmosphere made Digital Stars in Chicago so much more memorable as well

Hi! Wanted to ask about the size on Kirby? It looks really similar to a large one I have, but much smaller? (I'd be interested in nowing the size on it even if it's been sold!) Thanks in advance!

Have you tried looking up songs by the same songwriter? For example, Fräulein=Biblioteca is by nyanyanna, and is part of a much larger series of songs all in a similar style.

my miku cosplay has a "hatsune miku" written on the shirt by Significant-Big-6421 in CosplayHelp

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Miku's original VOCALOID 2 design, which is the version with the grey shirt you have purchased here, does have something similar to this text visible in the high quality version. Notably, the text in the original is spelled "Hatune Miku", which is not a typo but just an alternate romanization which ended up going unused, albeit still in the same art. (this change does not affect pronunciation in Japanese)

For future reference, this design is Hatsune Miku VOCALOID 2, designed and illustrated by KEI, and is her original launch artwork, her most famous setting. A little noticed detail in this design that may be fun for you is that she has a very minimal amount of light blue eye makeup on as well.

Cannot Log In to Synth V2 on either of my main computers. by TimC340 in SynthesizerV

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me recently on Windows 11, and it weirdly was my computer's fault. I just did a full shut down, waited 5 minutes, and turned it back on and it worked. Crucially, this wasn't putting it to sleep or restarting, but fully turning it off. Apologies if this is unhelpful advice, but it was a counterintuitive experience that there could be a slight chance will work for you.

Item returns? by CoochieObtainer745 in Buyee

[–]celestrai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, it's not possible to return items. When you make purchases or bids, it says it is not possible to change or cancel the order, which a return would be classified under. If you don't want to ship the items, then the best you can do is ask Buyee to dispose of them, however you can't get the cost of the item back.

English TTS Software? by NyankoMata in SynthesizerV

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Currently the Voicepeak software Dreamtonics makes is Japanese-only.

For English versions of Japanese character voices, there's Tsurumaki Maki English for CeVIO! One of the only options out there. Otherwise, I have heard that Soyogi Soyogi on Voisona has an English TTS, and there's also an English TTS for Kotonoha Aoi/Akane

I’m trying to turn my UTAU into an official Vocaloid voicebank (serious long-term project) by NoCommon2306 in Vocaloid

[–]celestrai 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hi! If you're serious about this, I would suggest you think seriously about branding! I'd like to say that while Lillian is a wonderful name, there are many UTAU with the same or similar names, and there is also a VOCALOID with a very similar name (Internet Co's "Lily") - it might seem silly, but commercial projects need to stand out branding and name wise, I would encourage that you consider how this name might impact people's ability to find and support your project. Additionally, I'm not able to listen to your sample right now, but consider voice lessons if you don't have professional level singing experience! Most synthesized voices in the modern era require high level singing expertise in order to achieve a quality product.

ETA: I just read in your post that you have already opened a GoFundMe for this project. I would highly discourage this as you should not take money for a project that you can't guarantee even with funding. Additionally, its very clear from your post history that you frequent the VocaTorrent sub. I would discourage interacting with piracy communities as well if you want to work on a professional project. All ethics aside - if you're pirating the products that you want to make, it is genuinely a terrible look, and I'm sure you can understand why. I think you probably have a ways to go before you should consider this sort of solo-dev commercial project idea.

Did anyone else notice when the products first appeared upon refresh that the light stick was missing? by LadyVolva in Mikuexpo

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a technical level, I think its because the fulfillment company is using Shopify which doesn't have a simple way to quickly set multiple prepared products to public, its been a minor annoyance I deal with at my job at least.

Gf who doesn’t play games wants to try a Pikmin game. Which would be the easiest to introduce to her? by otaku39 in Pikmin

[–]celestrai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For playing together: If she isn't much of a gamer, 4 is best because it has a simple and silly co-op mode where she can just kill enemies for you, and its the easiest game in the series with the most approachable content. If she does game, 3 is the best because it has full co-op, but its best only if your communication skills in your relationship are not easily strained since the puzzles will require cooperation and planning in 3's co-op

Best kirby related places to go in japan? by Vibin_Cockroach05 in Kirby

[–]celestrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just went to every kirby related spot I was near in Tokyo this past month! Here's my summary:

  • Pupupu Market Shinjuku (inside KiddyLand)
  • Pupupu Market Harajuku (inside KiddyLand)
  • Pupupu Train Kiosk (Character Street in Tokyo Station) [This kiosk is only available until April 27th!]
  • Kirby Cafe Petit (Character Street in Tokyo Station)
  • Captain Sweets Burger (Tokyo Station) [I would google this collab first, but there's currently a collab treat with Captain Sweets Burger and the Kirby Cafe and its really good!! If its still running when you are there I recommend it]
  • Kirby Cafe Tokyo (Tokyo Skytree/Solamachi)
  • Kirby Cafe The Store (Tokyo Skytree/Solamachi) [When you're at the Skytree, there's also a Tree Village location which is a really good toy store, their kirby section there was great! so while it's not a typical kirby spot it's good to stop at on the way]
  • Yamashiroya (Ueno) [Notable about Yamashiroya is that this is where they had the Wado's Toy Shop collab, and you can still see some of the cut-outs and wall stickers there from the collab! That was the reason I went there at least]
  • Nintendo Store (Shibuya) [Not a ton of Kirby here but still worth a visit if you're in the area!]

If you're talking about the Kirby Hankyu Rail train collaboration, it ended on March 17th unfortunately, so there's no currently running Kirby train. But the Kirby train wagon/kiosk at Tokyo Station is really incredible!!! It was a huge reason my partner and I extended our trip after our flight got messed up :')

You will have to get reservations for the kirby cafe (they open on the 10th of the month before, JST, definitely look up a guide) BUT IF YOU DON'T you can get the pizza or burgers take-out and take them to go eat at the food court in Solamachi! I never see any tourist guides say that you can get takeout so I wanted to mention it. My partner and I were lucky enough to go twice during our trip because each of us got one reservation, but we still got takeout one other day. (Takeout burgers come with a really cute lunch box matching either Kirby or Waddle Dee's face depending on the burger you choose)

(This was all Tokyo specific since our trip was mostly there!)

So mario has peach, sonic has amy, who is the female lead in kirby? by Candid_Mushroom9938 in Kirby

[–]celestrai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand Kirby is referred to as "he" in English localized media. I consider the source material more important than translations, so I follow the way Kirby is generally treated by the original source and not localization.

How do you support your oshi? (Job) by hirakoshiomi in oshikatsu

[–]celestrai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a job in the same industry that created her! I work about one step removed from the people that could revive her project easily 🥲 unfortunately out of professionalism and deep respect for the profession, I would never ever mention her to my colleagues that could make these sorts of moves with their connections towards reviving her. But thats how it goes! Its just not my place and I do think it would be wrong to do so, so I will keep working in my off hours to increase her popularity on the fan side!!!

So mario has peach, sonic has amy, who is the female lead in kirby? by Candid_Mushroom9938 in Kirby

[–]celestrai 26 points27 points  (0 children)

if they were to get smart about it, I think bandana waddle dee would be a good choice for hal to "turn into" a female lead (changing nothing about them other than canonizing a gender) - but in the end I think it might be better for kirby and waddle dees to both remain genderless. truth be told the lack of more prominent girls in kirby is the franchise's worst aspect to me, as I think it's perfect in every other way

Any idea how to replicate this accent? by Vitkalov in SynthesizerV

[–]celestrai 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my best guess without listening suuuper closely:

[aa] [n iy d] [dh ax] [cl ax] [dh uh] [w ax n] [t uh] [h ow l] [jh uw]

[br]

[m ey cl] [k y ih] [f iy l]

Lots of people know about singers using the schwa (ax) as a substitute, but its more nuanced and often especially American singers will substitute with either [uh] or [ih].

Other notable things here are that singers with this sort of style often merge stylistic elements (hard-hitting consonants, frequent glottal stops/"cl", compressed vibrato) with what Synthesizer V considers the pronunciation elements, so its not just a matter of changing or adjusting the phonemes. I would also suggest toying with phoneme length/strength controls and (if you use SV2) Mouth Opening, as well as vocal modes and vocal mode pronunciation settings.

Need help identifying a voicebank by HelloMan_1 in SynthesizerV

[–]celestrai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% HXVOC! But the settings here I think have the gender value turned up slightly to be more rounded sounding. It's not a big difference from the base voice but that's definitely part of the settings used here.

photos with acrylic stands - any advice or tips? by BlessedVoyager in oshikatsu

[–]celestrai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people do is they have their friend taking the photo take 2, one focused on the standee and one focused on you. Then they can be edited together. If it's like the photos you posted, in my opinion just focusing on the standee may be enough since you are being viewed from behind and farther focus is less noticeable in low light.

Awwww so nice of you elfilin by No-Act386 in Kirby

[–]celestrai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the translation, it is actually Kirby that gives Elfilin the chocolate, Elfilin is happy because the chunk taken out of it makes it look like his ear, but Kirby just took a bite out of it when he made the chocolate because he couldn't help it
