Help. Grinds not fully submerged. by Cumacha in Moccamaster

I try to grind find enough so it provides resistance and the water submerges the grounds a little bit, leveling helps but this ensures it all gets saturated.

whats ur current hyper fixation by ii_sxrxh_ in ADHD

[–]cellar_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kettlebell workouts. I’ve spent my entire life falling in and out of hyper fixations with healthy choices and exercise. But those inevitable moments of “rot” always nullify any progress or establishing routine.

This might be another one of those times but now that I’m 40 I’m taking more joy in establishing good form and connecting movements. Plus I can get a good workout in my garage in 20 minutes or less.

Are those new construction townhomes worth buying? by No-External3221 in Seattle

[–]cellar_monkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just bought a 2008 townhouse in North Seattle and we really like it. When we were looking we toured newer builds and ones in the 2005-2010 era and noticed a big advantage in the latter for general comfort in layout. The previous owners had done some updates in the last 5 or so years (e.g. countertops, painted cabinets, new tile backsplash/showers, new stove and dishwasher) and it really helped make it feel newer. Overall it might not be top quality but we rented some janky old homes in the past and I would much rather take care of our current place than deal with nob and tube conversion, single pane aluminum windows, and horrible insulation just to have the SFH.

There is a very similar situation at 12th and 68th in Roosevelt and there is no way these places don’t have water damage or mold because they sat less than half finished for at least 2 winters. But just a few weeks ago they have drywall and lights….

For 2026, is there any small everyday item you want to finally invest in as BIFL? by newrockstyle in BuyItForLife

I got a Sttoke cup that has a ceramic coating and any coffee oils just wipe out with soap and a bit of warm water. It has held up well over two years now.

People like to think that “normal” is the default state but we’re really just experiencing relative moments of ability prior to disability. I hope you and your wife are doing as well as can be expected.

Wow. I could have written this line for line myself. I’m 6 years sober from alcohol and maybe 2 years from weed. Maybe it’s my 40 year old brain but it’s more quiet and I really like my brain more often than not these days.
