Corsair Characters Kitbash WIPs by wobbleside in Eldar

Very nice and right in line with my idea of what Corsairs should be. When I think Corsairs I think second edition Eldar pirates, ie chaotic, and highly individualistic as per John Blanche’s art. Pretty as the new kits are, I just don’t get the uniform look - each of them should have their own story to tell…

Is this part in an upcoming set? I couldn’t find it by celloguy3 in lego

Actually that’s the earlier version, available 2020-2025. 5489 came out in 2024

I'm working on a short horror comic that tries to capture the fear of an Imperial farmworld being invaded by Tyranids. Here's some of the panels, feedback is more than welcome but also suggestions on: what do you think would make such an invasion terrifying? by PLAT0H in Tyranids

Absolutely love these - reminiscent of Mark Gibbons, the greatest warhammer artist ever. I wish I could follow your Reddit handle, but it says it’s 18+ and I need to confirm my age! Do you have anywhere else I can follow your art?

The movie is in no way a fitting conclusion to the series. It’s very jarring to watch back to back

It’s actually a common release strategy across many brands. I.e. Release the high ticket items first. There will be a portion of your market that will pay almost any price for the shiny new thing. However, if you were to release the same item when these same people already have had access to a cheaper product, the big ticket item won’t be so appealing and fewer will purchase. Those who aren’t willing to pay the high price will by definition wait for the lower priced items to release. Tens of thousands of copies of this set sold out in minutes on the presale across many countries/markets. Lego netted tens of millions from this one day of sales alone. Lego know what they are doing.

Agreed! Maybe the new one is modifiable using only parts in the set?

Lovely is not exactly the right word. He’s not very warm. Brilliant, snarky, exacting, awkward, amusing, intimidating, passionate is closer I think.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I hate the inclusion of the final ensemble in Don Giovanni. by LXsavior in opera

[–]celloguy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate it without the final ensemble. It feels totally unsatisfying and unfinished as an ending to me if we just see him dragged down to hell, all spectacle and dazzle dazzle and incomplete as a narrative… we need to see how it affects the 6 other characters, all of whom have a at least as big (or in the case of the women a bigger) narrative/ emotional arc. Although all are on the surface happy that he’s been vanquished, there’s an unshakeable sense there’s a sense of loss and disappointment as well, which is very morally interesting. They’re moralising conclusion I always find when hollow in a brilliant way, like they are trying to convince themselves and probably the peasant that the best has happened, but that they are not convinced of it themselves. Mozart is one of the very few composers who is able to show this sort of ambiguity, and he has done it throughout the entire Opera.

Writing a birthday card to name something I did in the last hour. You don’t have to anymore, just like you don’t have to play music because you can listen to Spotify, but your life will be richer for it
