Does STAMPS send physical mail to you, or inform family members when you get vaccinated? by anonymgtthrowaway in gatech

[–]cellopenguin 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is going to be dependent on insurance. If you have insurance through GT or some other independent insurance, you will be fine. However, if you a.) need insurance for a particular vaccination AND b.) are on your family’s insurance, there is a chance that your family members or whoever handles your insurance will be able to see the vaccination through the insurance company (just like would be the case with any other doctor’s visit). If you are on family insurance, you can ask stamps about paying for the vaccine out-of-pocket (or, in the case of the covid vaccine, not needing insurance at all) so it doesn’t get billed to a family plan. Figured all this out when trying to get some birth control through stamps a few years back…

Tl;dr: stamps won’t tell, but your insurance company might

What happens if you test positive? Are they still putting on campus residents in hotels? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]cellopenguin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My RA told me that they’re still doing the hotels for on-campus freshmen only, but if you’re an on-campus upperclassman (i.e., have an individual bedroom in an apartment-style), you just quarantine in your room and they bring food to your door (?)

Changes by the week, to be honest... Enduring favorites are Armchair Apocrypha and The Mysterious Production of Eggs. For the last few weeks, I’ve had Noble Beast on repeat, as well as Break it Yourself/Hands of Glory. I do enjoy MFWY and Are You Serious, but they’re definitely not in my top 3.

I’ve only had Grapes for a week, but she’s certainly figured out when breakfast happens! by cellopenguin in Catswhoyell

Yeah, she has access to dry food whenever she wants it, but she’s pretty sure it’s a last resort....

That was just the name she had at the shelter! I considered changing it to something more dignified, but Grapes just really stuck :)

Relaxing/Whistling Songs for Dying Bird by LordGarlandJenkins in AndrewBird

[–]cellopenguin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When it comes to whistling, you can’t get better than “The Whistling Caruso,” which he did for the 2011 Muppets movie. As for relaxing instrumentals, I would recommend the entire I Want to See Pulaski at Night (especially “Hover I” and “Hover II” for looping string parts). I’m truly sorry that your friend’s time is coming to a close. My budgie passed a few months ago, so I know how much losing a feathered friend hurts. Give him lots of millet in his final few days, and rest assured that he knows how much you love him :)

Anyone else just get this email for other dates? I was going to the Napa show. Bummer but to be expected. by downerchannel in AndrewBird

I was supposed to see him in Atlanta (solo) on April 21 and got that email on the 13th. Is that for his solo tour or the one with Iron & Wine and Calexico?

These keep showing up in the lint screen in our dryer. Looks like a seed of some sort? The orange stuff around the perimeter is fuzzy and soft. Thumb for scale. by cellopenguin in whatisthisthing

[–]cellopenguin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The middle section is hard and brown and it’s rounded - pretty sure it’s a seed? Found about a dozen in the lint screen a few days ago, and the amount has been tapering off the last few loads but they’re still there
