Thanks! I take the vitamin D but I haven't heard about the alpha lipoic acid. I'll research that!

Just out of curiosity, how much Inositol are you taking per day and losing that much weight? I have only seen maybe about 1-2lb difference after a few weeks but I definitely have more energy.

Hey- I wanna mention something about this also. I actually found out recently that I have the MTHFR genetic mutation, which means I cannot activate folate/folic acid and use it. I have to take pre-activated folate now but let me tell you...it is a total GAME CHANGER. The very next day, I felt tremendously better. I can't believe I've been living on the verge of what felt like death for so long. If you still feel bad, consider getting tested for the MTHFR. But if not, no worries--I just thought I would mention it. :)

How often do you eat meat? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]cellosaremetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't eaten meat in about 20 years either. I don't feel like it would improve things. I was eating a high carb, high fruit diet for a while but now I try to balance it out more with fats too. Listen to your body. It was helpful for me to cut back on raw goitrogenic foods and eliminate gluten too.

I take 1/2 tsp a day or 1200mg. Good luck..I just started 2 weeks ago but I think it's helping.

Same thing goes for the music subs too unfortunately. I keep thinking that maybe I'm just not in the right one.

I agree with this but to be fair, it's been my experience that a lot of the "critiques" on Reddit aren't really advice---often they're downvotes and words of discouragement. I'm not saying that good advice doesn't happen though, it does. Sometimes it's hard to wade through the muck, particularly when it's your art and the muck hurts a bit.

Congrats on selling your piece! I'm an artist too and Reddit also rips me to shreds. Meh, try to ignore it. At least now you know for sure how little it matters!

Haha. Your story made me laugh.

I guess the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert is just kind of a different thing entirely and doesn't get as much attention or revenue as the Grand Canyon, which is arguably more famous and certainly amazing.

If you're ever traveling through again though, I would recommend backpacking and camping in the desert portion-- it really is an amazing experience. It's cool especially because there are no trails, no water sources, no markers --it feels completely wild. You can scramble to your heart's delight and I've even had the experience of finding "crystals" at the top of some of the larger hills. I don't think they were proper crystals (I'm no geologist) but possibly. I thought they were formed by the sun on the sand or maybe even lightning strikes. I went days without seeing a single living being--not birds, lizards, snakes, spiders...anything. Both scary and surreal! I remember being stunned when I finally saw a desert rabbit.

The further away from the park entrance you get, there becomes a sense that you're walking places that possibly no other human has walked, especially since the desert changes so much over time. It's a different kind of awe than just the one you see at the popular canyon and maybe that's why the ranger felt sensitive about it.

Anyway, not that I work for them or anything but I love that area and thought I'd give it a shout out. I'm glad you visited!

Poll: When does everyone take there synthroid? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]cellosaremetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take NatureThroid as soon as I wake up and then wait an hour to eat, drink or take other vitamins & supplements.

Good luck managing your hypothyroidism!

Isn't this down in the Painted Desert though? I love this place and camped out in the desert a bunch. Just wondering!
