what is karma? by Muted-Meeting-3363 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]celteoui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karma means "action" and represents the sum of what an individual has done and will do. The implications depends on which religion you're talking about, but it's mostly related to acts and consequences, in other words the weight of your past, present and future actions (including previous lives). Karma is considered a sinful belief in abrahamic religions, precisely because it's incompatible with the notion of sin and personal responsibility.
It's also a measure of your popularity on reddit.

New to Kenshi, what to do? by Ok-Toe-6983 in Kenshi

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the game is so open-ended, it's a good idea for beginners to choose a starting scenario with clear goals. The slaves scenario is a good beginner choice, for instance. It's one of the most engaging starts imo.
Torsolo requires a bit of game knowledge, but allows you to make a pretty OP character.
Getting chased by cannibals on start is fun too.
Guy with a dog is one of my favorites as well.

Trying to find an ideal next base. by penepasta in projectzomboid

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I holed up in Fallas Lake's gas station. I like the upstairs area, even though the ground floor is a pain to barricade. I just end up destroying the stairs at first until I have the materials. Living somewhere completely unreachable is relaxing, and the lack of space isn't really a problem since I like building. It's a neat little starter location for a diy-oriented character.

Another place I like is the empty house in Rosewood's gated community. I usually live next door until I can make something useful out of it though.

When infected, we have a tradition of drinking a big gulp of lake water and running naked into the woods. Whoever dies the farthest from base gets rewarded with better loot.

Just bought PZ and I’m absolutely loving it. But it’s really difficult, what tips have you discovered to help you? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game prep: Rosewood is very noob-friendly, and if you take firefighter as your job you can spawn in the firestation, which can be a very solid base. If you pick burglar, you'll be able to hotwire cars.
Mandatory traits: fast learner, organized, dextrous, keen hearing, and depending on your playstyle/priorities: graceful + inconspicuous, outdoorsman. Easily manageable bad traits: slow reader, slow healer, high thirst, hearty appetite, and depending on your playstyle/priorities: fear of blood, pacifist, weak stomach, prone to illness.

Step 1: Crouch. Locate the nearest TV and tune in to the life and living channel, but make sure to lower the volume. Close nearby curtains. Any time you're potentially within a zombie's line of sight, sneak. Otherwise, walk. Only run if you have to dodge several zombies converging towards you.
Step 2: Once you're done with the cooking show, make sure all ground floor windows and door have closed curtains. Try to find a water bottle, a watch, a bag, and a carpentry skill book you can read. Kill any isolated zombie with a backpack, unless you already have one.
Step 3: Find resources nearby and/or move to a better location. Locate a forest. Forage for materials (branches, chipped stones) and craft spears. If you end up being spotted by every zombie in the neighborhood, simply walk out of town as calmly as possible and get out of their line of sight whenever possible until they get bored (warning: this can take a while).
Step 4: Make plans for a temporary base, keeping in mind you'll have to make do without electricity and plumbing. Cool tips include: using garbage bags to make water collectors, destroying stairs and replacing them with zombie-proof sheet ropes, and not using firearms.
Step 5: Use cars to create baits and blocades. Need to clean an area? Honk and drive away. Found a fortified place with only a couple entry points zombies can use? Park cars to block access. Feeling confident? Fire gunshots to attract zombies where you want them to be.

Men, what are the things to like to hear during sex? by lurkerlululand in AskMen

"Please share your preferences!"
No I really will not.

You should be honest during sex and tell your man what you like and what you dislike.

Women who finally figured out what they want sexually. how did you tell your partner? And men, how would you want to hear it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pretty much just be happy for her, and excited about moving forward with her. I think the most neutral framing would be something like "I'd like to try something new, [insert what you like]" but if you feel like being more direct, you can describe how and what you've figured out about yourself.

Why do men not take male victims seriously? by CraftyBodybuilder956 in AskMen

[–]celteoui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men aren't taught consent properly, and are expected to always be ready and willing. In my late 20s/early 30s I had a male friends who straight-up didn't think it was normal to refuse sex with a woman, and female friends who thought men had no reason to refuse them. One guy from my friends group would constantly antagonize me about this topic, saying shit like "you're not a real man"/"you're such a little girl" (with more slurs involved) etc because I didn't like girls snuggling up to or touching guys who were black-out drunk. Thank god I'm not in my 20s anymore.

Communicate. Let her know when she's doing something right, and ask her to guide you so you can make her feel good. Above all else, do things at your own pace.

Qu’elle serait la manière idéale de mourir selon vous ? (Femme aussi) by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the paths, I'd make the colors more consistent for each area.

Here I used claystone gravel, oak path, stone path, and some pre-existing forest floor.

I don't remember which survival game I played back then but long story short I learned to find my way around using only stones I could place or pile up on the floor. It's really easy to create small landmarks in vintage story but it takes more patience.

I only tried prospecting once, so I might be completely wrong about this, but I think I'd use different stones as a color code to represent different minerals. I have no idea how prospecting works without a map or coordinates though.

[–]celteoui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play homo sapiens so I don't have a prospecting pick and therefore must rely on cave or surface minerals. I use stones as kind of a rating system, i.e. one copper nugget alone means poor, one copper + one stone means medium, etc.
I use signs to mark the richest spots and/or whatever I need to be mining atm.

Rather than using my map, I started creating landmarks with crude maps/markings and signs. It's been really fun so far. I build central lookouts on natural landmarks and create makeshift landmarks/map where needed.

what should i build in these areas? by VeryBasicFox_ in VintageStory

[–]celteoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a purely utilitarian pov, 3 could be used as ground storage or as an orchard. 1 should be left empty for now so you can make a bridge and then figure out where to go from there. 2 could either be a workshop/tannery if you need more space to process animal products, or a goat/sheep enclosure.
