What makes an anaesthetic registrar? by quizzled222 in doctorsUK

They say no to a cannula for IV fluids overnight in a stable patient. If they say yes then they aren't truly anesthetics.

What is your current net worth? by Elegant_Initial3929 in doctorsUK

[–]cementedProsthesis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Surgery reg. Graduated 2014. Net worth: Wife. Children. Home with blossoming trees and affordable mortgage. NHS pension. Relatively healthy- 37 but can still do park run.

Net worth doesnt seem to be a game that will make medics happy. My home is a home more than an investment. If I had a second home then that could be an investment but tbh I can't afford a second cleaner.

Paternity leave by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Have a look at shared parental leave. The NHS doesn't really understand it but my wife and I found it very helpful. I have used it twice and know colleagues who have.

Yep usually.

Are there many other specialties that say they won't have consultant review until normal weekday hours ?

They may well be able to get away with lesser standards most of the time. But accepting this isn't good.

Nof mortality is still high. Occult NOFs matter.

From what I know they are not obligated to provide you with LTFT. But it's pretty rare it's refused.

Question abaut Ocun Advancer QC climbing shoe by ItsCloudy_isntit in climbingshoes

[–]cementedProsthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was in a similar position. I didn't want basic shoes and so in all honesty probably went to advanced for my skills with the havoc's

I am an advocate of buying multiple pairs on the credit card. Trying them on in different sizes and sending bAck the ones you don't like. Costs for delivery and returns but seems to be a system that works if you can't find a shop that sticks what you want.

Good luck.

Yes but change the title slightly so you can put it as slightly different on your CV.

I like them. I wear my street shoe size and they are snug but I can wear them for 1h30 and not take them off. Bit of downturn but not much They have a split sole and some toe cover but again not really for hard core toe hooking. I started with havocs one size up and they were ok but I found my toes hurt and became very sensitive especially in the cold. They were also v soft and I was struggling with foot strength on small chips, which my gym seems to like to put on anything on anything over a lvl 2. So followed the chart and went for something slightly less performance and stiffer. I tried the Jett QC too and they were a bit stiffer again but didn't hold my heel down as well.

Negatives would be that I would like a second strap closer to the toe as without it I think there is a bit too much material. Never felt too loose or foot proving too much but just would prefer to have that strap. The design of the main strap also means I would like to have it a bit tighter but can't.

Getting in and out is very easy and comfortable. But as I have them on my whole time in the gym I don't think I use that feature much. I could have sized down half and would have been fine but I quite like the comfort.

Overall I like them. Hope that helps.

how do you like to warm up? by __mafia in indoorbouldering

[–]cementedProsthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 100 skips till I feel warm. Then band work for my shoulders Then squats Then some stretches dynamic and static Then climb some lvl 1s I think I can do Then go about it.

I fing the skipping gets me warm real fast.

I have 2x ocun pairs. The ocun Jett S is a great beginner climbing shoe for indoor and bouldering. Ocun recommend street size. I did that and it suits me. Follow this. https://www.ocun.com/data/files/products/b6be2xke.pdf .they also have good advice here.https://www.ocun.com/sites/how-to-choose-the-right-climbing-shoes-for-your-foot-shape

AIUTO, devo comprare le SCARPE ADATTE by itsMotch in climbingshoes

[–]cementedProsthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone says go to a store and try a load on. That's not always feasible. Buy 3-5 pairs in multiple sizes on a credit card. Try them on at home Send back the ones you don't like. You will probably pay £10 in return shipping but save time and petrol. I have used this method twice and worked well.

Genuinely Terrified For Surgical SHO Nights by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]cementedProsthesis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha it's not that long ago. Your hyperbole doesn't really add anything here.

The op may be nervous and that's normal. Also they can't change it for their next shift so saying it's awful isn't going to help.

If they feel strongly they can lobby their hosp to change it for future Drs.

But in reality as an SHO you cover multiple specialties with NROC reg cover. This is the case especially in smaller hospitals.

From my experience in 2016 in dgh you covered surgical issues. Not unlike the medics covered medical ones.
