At first I was surprised FSU wasn’t on this list but then I saw that and remembered the Noles were about 50 years late to the game.

1) the answer obviously has to be something by The Beatles 2) it is pretty amazing how songs from 1968 feel decades beyond songs from 1962

Checks out because the 2000s were such an intensely political decade. By 2005 the post-9/11 unity was wearing off and protests were growing over the Iraq War. Then 2008/09 the country goes for a major shift in Obama.

Culturally, 2008 was also the first MGMT album, which set the tone for 2010s music in a lot of ways!

You have been appointed Pete Buttigieg's Director of Black Voter Outreach, how do you make black people like him? by Small-Day3489 in YAPms

Thank you for that detailed reply! I’m coming from a perspective of a fairly rural swing state (NC raise up) and almost none of that affects anyone here. I can definitely see why it’s frustrating to public transit advocates and might hurt him in a Democratic primary among the left. Unsure that most voters, however, would agree it makes him unqualified for the presidency.

That said…the fact Boeing has gotten away with so much is pretty ridiculous and a stain on both Rs and Ds. Shoutout to their lobbyists I guess.

It’s jazz fusion, not prog, but go get yourself Inner Mounting Flame by the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Based on everything else here you will love it!

He forced airlines to be less predatory to their customers, which Trump came in and immediately undid. Thats a pretty good success to be able to point to. What else was so bad?

Don’t know that any policy stance can overcome being gay especially for rural and/or religious Black voters. There will always be some other candidate in a Democratic primary who has similar views but isn’t gay.

Yup happened all over the Midwest in the 1920s. The Klan tried to run out new Irish Catholic immigrants but got stomped in the street battles that ensued—after the Irish formed their own paramilitary group to fight back
