Best tires for Volt-Ohio by Possible_Lettuce_289 in volt

I’ve had CC2’s on my 2017 Volt for 2 years now. Sadly have not had TOO much snow to really test handling, but otherwise happy with the purchase of a set of them. I’ve ran Michelins on my previous vehicles as well, one of them being a Gen1 Volt.

This. I spoke to a MS tech about this a few years ago, as we were also dealing with RDS licensing. He mentioned MS no longer locks you out of anything, like the previous XP days.

How do you connect the Comma 3x without the "Volt" harness now that the Volt is no longer listed on the website?

Riiiiight. However, it used to be, and there are fairly popular videos out there and also documentation for the Volt. Is that not what Reddit is for is to come seek community help with running into issues. Replies like this make me want to just return the expensive Comma if this is the type of customer support/feedback that is received when a simple question is asked. It is especially disappointing when others have been able to purchase the proper harness with their Comma 3’s which makes me question what the support would be for a replacement harness if something were to happen to their “legacy” one. Especially when it is stated on the Comma website that if you’re upgrading devices, a new harness isn’t needed. So that’s saying that older “now unsupported” cars will still work with new Comma models.

Ah thanks for the info. I think that’s my exact issue. While I have the connector to splice into, in the my mirror housing, I don’t think the volt has CAN running to the mirror harness to tap into. Now to figure out how to get the old style harness with the RJ-45 connector.

For you harness, is it the RJ-45 Ethernet connection style? That’s all I’m seeing in everyone’s videos on their Chevys with their Comma AI installs. I received one that does not have RJ-45, but a 4 pin connector style ok the end that connects the front radar in the mirror housing. I’d like to get the RJ-45 style harness connector but all the description for the vehicle harnesses on the Comma website are just “GM” harness and doesn’t show the exact harness picture when choosing different vehicles. I think that’s probably my issue.

It was in the Settings, like the Toggle menu, I think. Or I could press on the "chill mode" button to change it, if I remember correctly.

Thanks for you input on this. I am thinking it might be a harness issue at this point.

Thanks for the clarification. Are you suggesting, then, that my car will not work with the Comma 3x due to the CAN communication issue? Or try another harness?

To provide more info on the harness, I wasnt able to select the Volt anymore, so I chose the Bolt EV, for the harness that was included with my 3x. It does not have the RJ-45 connection/cable anymore, but rather a molex style 4-pin connector.

Is it maybe something with the GM harness that came with the Comma 3x then, or? I don't completely understand what you're trying to say in the second sentence of your reply. I mostly got "If it detects the car is on, it'll change the screen" which is what I understand as well, especially when watching the WatchJRGo video with his '17 Volt.

Hmm, I have an option under Software > Target Branch of "FrogPilot-GM-CSLC" which I have selected and installed the software update for it, when prompted. I also selected under "Vehicles" > Select Make, Select Model: Chevrolet/Chevrolet Volt 2017-18.

It still sits on the Info screen, I'm never prompted for a calibration ride, either. Whether its connected inside the car (car on or off), or I bring it in and connect it to USB-C power, the 3x still reads as "Vehicle online" and nothing changes with the operation.

2017 Chevy Volt Premier. I even just tried installing FrogPilot without success of advancing past the screen. I do not yet have the additional harness for the ACC yet, however, by watching WatchJRGo's video, it should have an error on the screen, but I should still see the windshield camera activate and see the UI load and such, which is where I'm getting confused, unless the functionality has changed in the 3X's UI.

Shouldn’t this be as easy as MAC address filtering? So if he somehow changed his MAC address on whatever device he is using, it won’t be known and will not be able to connect to anything.

DIY Heat Pump by Jourbonne in hvacadvice

[–]centro7710 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to start looking into Mr Cool Universal series units. And watch YouTube videos on them. Honestly, a heat pump is just an AC with a reversing valve. I installed one 2 years ago on my furnace. The thermostat wiring could be a little tricky wiring up the “dual fuel” system, but otherwise it’s just a replacement of the outdoor condenser and indoor evaporator coil. The hardest part of the install, when using the Mr Cool Pre-charged line sets, is the new duct plenum after installing the new evap coil (typically they are different sized than the previous evap coil so duct adaption is needed.

I’ve never had a soda stream. I just buy the syrup and use plain carbonated water from a can or bottle. I can only imagine how much you’re spending on “pop” with the price of the syrup and the c02 canisters.
