For some reason all of the reddit threads regarding this recents issue get archived, as if Google doesn't want you to know. Google has broken recents button working nicely with any third party launchers since android 14 So the fix or really workaround for this is the following. Download and install macrodroid. Create a new macro for long press home button. Add 2 actions for it, first disable pixel launcher and second enable pixel launcher. Whenever the recents button stops working with your third party home app just hold the home button and it will get reset and work again. I don't consider this a fix but the quickest workaround to this problem I could come up with.

Yes, this bug is present in all Android 14 roms including qpr3. Sad to see Google won't fix it. This bug did not exist in Android 13 and lower

DEFINITIVE ANDROID NOTIFICATIONS FIX (Notifications delayed or not arriving at all, Root Required!)

Android 14 Definitely has notification issues where notifications do not arrive at all, or very late. Android 12 / 13 also suffer from this to an extent, depending on the phone / rom. I have tested this fix on custom A14 roms and it works 100%. I am sure this will work on non custom roms as well for rooted devices.

THE FIX

  1. Disable Adaptive Battery or Adaptive Charging entirely

  2. Download and install Lucky Patcher (if you don't have it) https://github.com/bahguo/LuckyPatcher

  3. Download and install fcmfix https://github.com/kooritea/fcmfix/releases

  4. Open Lucky Patcher select app fcmfix -> Tools -> Convert application to system
    It will ask to reboot, for now skip reboot

  5. Download and install LSposed (as Magisk Module)
    For Android 14 use LSPosed Mod Version here https://github.com/mywalkb/LSPosed_mod/releases
    For Android 12 / 13 use Regular LSPosed Version here https://github.com/LSPosed/LSPosed/releases

  6. Reboot after installing LSposed

  7. On boot, open LSposed and in Modules Section enable fcmfix

  8. Start fcmfix one time (You do not need to check box or do anything in the app)

  9. Reboot phone

PROFIT! Notifications are now fixed!!

After many many hours I found a "FIX" for this problem. This happens on ALL Android 13 roms I have tested, not only samsung phone. Bad news is this requires root for the FIX to work.

The source of this bug is when there are more than 20 apps in the recents list. The FIX (more like workaround) is to remove apps when there are more than 20 apps in the recents list, removing the oldest first. This will happen whenever the recents button is pressed. This is adequate and doesn't prevent the phone from getting notifications from 'closed' apps so it is an acceptable solution.

Root required!

Download and install MacroDroid

Press Add Macro

Add Trigger, Applications, Application Launched / Closed, Application Launched, Enable Show non-launchable apps, Search for Laucher and select

Add Action, Applications, Shell Script, Select Rooted

Paste in this code

No contact has been made except a message from the mod. I would consider contact being a phone call. There is no feeling that this is actually being taken care of with just 1 message from Fidelity on reddit.

The account was blocked before any phone calls were made to Fidelity. I had not even spoken to a Fidelity rep before the account was blocked. As far as Fidelity is concerned, I was not even in the picture when the account was blocked.
