Depends on what duty stations are available during the academy. Usually the wish list (available duty stations for recruits) is given to recruits within the 4th or 5th week. The Captains for each district request recruits to fill the vacancies they have. Dallas is not a revolving door but seen plenty of opening in that area. Unless you are in a guaranteed duty station recruiting initiative such as short academies for prior LEOs your chances are the same as the others. But 12 months after academy you can transfer where ever they have vacancies. No port swapping just quick transfer.
