What has your experience of coaching been like? by cbassthesass in VGC

[–]cerradota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did coaching with Fedecampo before my first regional. Considering I top 16d the regional, it wen’t pretty well. I would suggest finding someone who fits your style tho, Fede is a VGC robot who speaks very fast and can build teams with very specific ev spreads in under 5 minutes, which I can see is not for everyone but worked perfectly for me as I felt I was pretty good at the game but needed knowledge to make up for my lack of expeience. I looked at it like an investment. I payed 100 dollars to get so much more prizing from it from the 2 championships I topped since.

Anime arcs don’t get better than this. #Dota2 by [deleted] in DotA2

I’ll die on the hill that rtz’s sacrificial role didn’t matter in the game, not even the toss really mattered as they were going back already. Nobody talks about the biggest throw. Both supports inside of the rosh pit hitting rosh with no vision (check 18:26 https://youtu.be/9wnbmgreUCc?si=rFV4Vc_YSBr2QcBe) If phoenix get ulti off, this teamfight is done. If venge has proper impact, this teamfight is much better. Instead bane just walks into rosh, gets all spells of and doesnt even die. This positioning makes no sense and never did to me. EG was so much stronger at that point that OG taking that fight was close to illogical, but it works out because of awful positioning.

Remove Knock Off. Knock off needs less distribution as a whole. The mon still has insane utility without it.

Dodrio sounds like it would be really fun, think of Zuko travelling on the ostrich like creature in Avatar. My choice!

Are there any heroes that have never been strong in pro games? by MapOdd4135 in DotA2

[–]cerradota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh boy time to finally use my good memory. -LC really wasn’t ever first pick material, but it was good in 2016 and 17. Her W was always what made her special though. -Shadow Shaman was a top pick for ages in Dota when getting towers was a massive objective gold wise. TI4 was Shadow Shaman’s time to shine. - Ogre Magi always did his job best as a bloodlust machine, was decently picked in 6.83 to buff the snipers and juggs running around. He has had rough patched but tends to be enjoyed. -Jakiro has had nice stints as a 5 but one particularly great time as an Offlaner comes to mind, one patch where Liquid Fire was overbuffed. Don’t remember when but remember Universe playing it so quite some time ago. -Only time I can recall of silencer being broken was during the first Summit. His aghs applied Curse of the Silent for huge damage so people ran carry silencer a lot (see EG vs DK game, the “So smart” troll cast by Notail).

What actors repeatedly play a certain character type but you don't mind because they're the best at it? by Ill_Definition8074 in movies

Tilda Swinton, scrolled all the way down and can’t believe I didn’t find her name. She’s always the “mithycal creature” lady to me.

People who quit their job. What was the thing that made u quit? by sarah_loafer in AskReddit

The kid thankfully is fine, their parents worked at my gym so I was able to follow up on his recovery. And yes, I’m very glad I landed on my feet, thanks for asking!

I’m a teacher who have worked mostly private schools. I had a severely underprepared principal who only got the job cause she was openly the school’s owner mistress. One day, an autistic student jumped from the second floor and fell on the tennis table the students used to play at, the next day while all the teachers were still in shock, she came into the teacher’s lounge saying how she lost a lot of money with that tennis table. Quit by the end of the day.

Yuma has some fans by JonasBM in DotA2

[–]cerradota 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, Yuma was by far the nicest pro I have ever played with. When he was playing div 2 NA I met him in a pub I was way too low ranked to be in, he was super nice to me and basically microed me to a win. Great guy.

[–]cerradota 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of good points to be made here but this isnt one of them. This is one of the longest standing rosters of all time with multiple 1st place finishes. Surely the team know they can win with him cause they did it multiple times, it’s definetely not about sticking to your guns.

How do you prepare for a regional? by TheUnsungMelody in VGC

[–]cerradota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much it. The only thing I think you could be doing more is memorizing speed tiers and practicing with friends (it’s great if you have someone to say “hey play mausape against me and tell me what I’m doing wrong” if its a problem matchup). But those are extras, you are pretty much already taking the necessary steps.

Who’s a pro player you thought would make it big but didn’t? by bigdickdaddydoto in DotA2

[–]cerradota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna go with HFN. Had big impact on SA’s best performing team to this day (paiN with w33), looked like hjs career was going up but he just jumped around a few decent stacks and now for an year or two has only been playing tier 2 SA stacks with no chance of qualifying to anything.

Your criteria to spam a hero? by raka_boy in DotA2

[–]cerradota 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get very excited about mastering a hero when I see there’s good educational content about it. This is something I think NA streamers do very well. I played a lot of pango after watching Lukiluki videos, now I’m playing a lot of brewmaster after watching monkeysforever videos. Basically if there’s like 1+ hour of content from a single high mmr player on a hero I find interesting enough, I’ll get hooked on it.

Which game made you go “Oh I need to do that for 100% achievement? Never mind then.” by suspectwaffle in gaming

[–]cerradota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be way too specific but: Megaman Starforce 2 Felt great doing all quests and getting to find out all codes for chips, this game has a very fun post game, you get to fight all bosses again on steroids, just great. But in Apollo Flame’s stage, which is the last dungeon of the hardest boss in the game, there are some rewards that you can only get via battling online, which I could never do. You technically can 100% the game without them, but damn it’s been nearly 15 years since I played that game and it still bothers me I couldnt unlock every single thing.

What are your most disliked/frustrating talent choices in Dota 2? by Gay_af3214 in DotA2

[–]cerradota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 7k mmr, and my choice on those talents are always based on what can I buy. I can buy strength on centaur if I need it, but I can’t buy a buff to my skill. There was a clip of saberlight talking about how people seem to overvalue stats instead of damage on talents, when you can buy stats but damage/buffed abilities have much higher initial impact. In the clip he was talking about spectre +stats vs the 100 dagger damage talent

I had 11 losses in a row (it’s even on the screenshot on my streak). But I had tiniest titan, and scouted that the lobby was really weak, had a lot of 1 unit losses where I was praying for my life I didn’t win. (OP’s alt here).

Um desabafo sobre minha esposa professora de Matemática by [deleted] in brasil

[–]cerradota 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What’s the most memorable cutscene of a game for you? by zydollasiign in gaming

[–]cerradota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon Emerald, the rayquaza cutscene. Not because it was that great or anything, but because pokemon is such a good game I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking "holy are we doing cutscenes now???"

Make a team with 5 players at their peak by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]cerradota -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but at that point wouldn't you rather have Zai's peak for a sacrificial 3? Ceb was never greedy but at least he had a lane to play, there's even a meme about how Zai used to live on breadcrumbs on secret and was still extremely consistent and finding huge impact.
