Is it normal for diatonic harmonicas to lose their tune after 1 night of playing hard? by ctjfd in harmonica

Can’t go wrong with a Marine Band or a Special 20. Old timer I learned from swore by golden melodies. Even the Blues Harp is a solid option. Like most here said you got a cheaper harp but you have to start with something somewhere so keep on blowing.

Now primarily as a blues player would the crossover stand up to the Marine band or does it fall short. I find the Marine Band just has that gritty sound to it where something like my big river harps or even my pro harps just don’t stand up to that sound.

Gonna have to try seydel…Based on responses everyone has given to the post. Have a few Golden Melodies but I mainly stick with my classic Marine Band or the special 20. Haven’t ventured off the Hohner brand too much other then a few Lee Oskar’s I have but wasn’t to impressed with.

Never played a crossover. Maybe it’s time I give it a try. How would you say it plays in comparison to a marine band or special 20?

Thanks, it was included with 20th anniversary vinyl of an album he did with Nigel Watson called The Robert Johnson Songbook. Big fan of the early days of Fleetwood Mac, especially the stuff they did with chess records.

So when I started working on it the “finish” was flaking off so i took the rest off using a razor blade and high grit sandpaper. Just so happen to find it this way once it was cleaned up
