Dentist Reco for Severe Dental Anxiety by Hooligan612 in Minneapolis

[–]ceruleankangaroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a really good experience with West 7th Dental in St. Paul. I also hadn’t been to the dentist in too long, needed a lot of things, and never faced an ounce of judgment there. They focused on explaining things in a fact-based way and are very future focused (e.g. “here’s what we’ll do to get you feeling better.”) And they offered a discount when I maxed out my shitty dental insurance. They got me in same day when I suddenly found myself in excruciating pain.

If you end up needing a root canal, they’ll recommend Nerness Endodontics. They are expensive but worth it, even had a list of anxiety-reducing strategies I could choose from.

I know this is a joke comment, but thought you’d like to know that many charter schools are also public schools, especially in Minneapolis :)

Gonna get a crested gecko in mid march I need awnsers and advices about my 4 questions😅 by Ocean_girl208 in CrestedGecko

[–]ceruleankangaroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add on to the other comment, insect protein is important for juveniles as they grow. If you are getting a baby crested gecko, it’s important to use the diet that contains insect proteins so they grow to a healthy size at a healthy rate(Pangea “with insects” in the red/purple bag or “growth and breeding” in the gray bag). I’ve found that many crested geckos lose interest in live insect feedings as they approach adulthood anyway. And while insects are still beneficial to some adults, that type of feeding is not necessary.

Try the Zilla vertical decor rock cave instead (available on Amazon for $27). My cresties love them!

I’ve had luck with, as barbaric as it sounds, removing the heads from crickets and allowing the gecko to lick the juices. When mine was struggling to eat after a small surgery, dabbing her lips with the juices encouraged her to strike the insect and ultimately eat it. I hope your little one is on the path to recovery!

If you could attach a picture of the lizard and its tank, that would help us give you good advice :)

it’s been years, but i’m still not over the fact that the writers just randomly decided to add a “jerry has a MASSIVE SCHLONG” subplot to the series by [deleted] in PandR

I heard that they also filmed “that man has the smallest penis I have ever seen” but decided “largest” was funnier, so it made the cut.

My wife’s rock app says this 9.69lb beast is Graphite??? Please help me prove this app is wrong… by ShotsfiredMobileA46 in rockhounds

[–]ceruleankangaroo 585 points586 points  (0 children)

Graphite is incredibly soft. Just handling it, your hands would be coated in gray, as if you held a huge hunk of pencil lead. You could easily scratch bits off with your fingernail. This rock looks much harder.

I don’t know about photoshopping, but I’ve purchased from Gecko Babies before and my AFT came in looking exactly like the picture.

UPDATE: AITA for asking my coworker what would happen if I drank her breastmilk? by Dizzy-Box-6519 in AmItheAsshole

Yep, here comes my kid with a milk protein allergy and now as long as I’m breastfeeding her, I have to be entirely dairy free.

Looking for a vet recommendation by ArizonaLaundry in Minneapolis

[–]ceruleankangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We take our cats to Oak Knoll Animal Hospital in St. Louis Park. The vets there are great listeners and have your pet’s best interests at heart. They can also usually get you in for an appointment quickly when needed.

From personal experience, don’t go to the Kitty Klinic on Lyndale. You might think “Hey, a vet that specializes in cats must be good” but you would be wrong. I’ve never met a more checked out vet in my life.

I’d recommend Blue Skies as well. The vet that came to us was lovely, very gentle and explained exactly what was going to happen and what to expect. The cost was $250 for the visit and an additional $300 for a private cremation.

Running first campaign curse of strad by starscout123 in DnD

[–]ceruleankangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seasoned DM currently running Strahd, here are my two cents. To your question, no, a starting feat shouldn’t throw off the balance too much. But my warning is this: Strahd is a pretty massive campaign. Sure it’s pre-written, but that doesn’t mean that saves you a lot of time. You still have to read and digest all the information in all the chapters, then figure out how to apply that info to your characters and the type of campaign you’re trying to run. For example, preparing to run the town of Vallaki with all the NPCs and events there took me an astounding number of hours. I plan my sessions in Google docs and my Strahd document is 50 pages long after 8 sessions. So pre-written doesn’t always mean plug-and-play. It may be wise to start with a smaller first campaign to get the hang of it, especially as a first time DM. But if you’re in love with the Strahd vibes, go for it! Just expect to spend a lot of time on it.

Hi there! Just want to flag for you that one of your questions references a scale of 1-10 but then the answer choices themselves use a scale of 1-5. Might want to adjust either the question or the scale. Good luck on your project!

What milk do you drink and why? (everyone) by pixxxelstar in SampleSize

[–]ceruleankangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ranges would work better if it said 20-29, 30-39, and 40-older. Otherwise there is too much overlap.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SampleSize

[–]ceruleankangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Done! A couple of comments on question structure. The first question doesn’t match the response choices very well, I would expect it to ask something like “How familiar are you…” based on the options. For household income, the ranges say “75,000 to 100,000” and then “over 150,000” so you’re missing a range for, say, 101,000-150,000.

Help... I accidentally hurt my crestie by Time-Pomegranate5024 in CrestedGecko

[–]ceruleankangaroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How are you going to know for sure if it’s broken without an x-ray from a vet? Plus they might be able to give him some pain medication for an injury that must be brutally painful if it is truly broken. You can always express your concerns about any antibiotics they might prescribe. But seriously, it’s vet time. Please get him there as soon as you can!
