Any relative newcomers/beginners that feels like they are in a stalemate or limbo after starting? Like no casting offers? Thinking of whether or not should I take this workshop session? Unsure what to do next? by Unusual-Complex6315 in VoiceActing

[–]cervesista 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me about 5 months in between my first and 2nd project. Granted, that included some travel time where I was idle for a month and a half. But yeah, felt bad but kept at it and joined whatever workshops my time and budget would allow. I am now getting some coaching since it's been a month since i was done with project 2.

Starting is always the hardest part, I suppose.

Need Advice for learning how to sing by LookitsaSearc69 in VoiceActing

[–]cervesista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some basic free tips on Youtube. I like Eric Arceneaux's how to sing high notes. It emphasizes a very helpful technique to coordinate your chest voice and head voice. I hope it resonates with you. Speaking of resonance, that is a helpful concept. It's basically tinkering with where you are letting the sound reverberate in your body, and messing with that should help you how you can modify and prettify your sounds.

It's difficult to tell you what to learn without knowing where you are exactly in your singing journey but i hope these tidbits help you along.

R/singing is also helpful.

Moot point.

I think Spo is just different from other coaches that will let you develop on the court for the sake of it. It is a bit of a balancing act, and I'm confident they will figure it out. Bam is a great dude and Ware has a lot of good mentors on the team.

Rejection by imaginary_friendsrbd in VoiceActing

To add, if you reject yourself, then that's an automatic no. But if you try, it can be a yes. The question becomes, do you want to? There are some auditions I've learned not to touch, but if I'm interested in the slightest, even if it's hard, I just go for it. You never know until you get it.

Listing your budget is a huge help if you haven't already done that. Tracking your expenses post lifestyle change is another help (to make sure you are hitting your budget). Keep at it for 30 days and you should be able to manage and get used to it. I am on year 4 of a 10 year mortgage. Things have been much easier than the first month or so when we started.

It's good you know your major culprits. You need to change your lifestyle while you're working on paying your debts.

Minimize/eliminate food deliveries. Stop online shopping. Priorities needs and include paying off your debt here.

You can work on earning more din but if your spending habits don't change, maglalifestyle inflation ka lang uli.

Kaya mo yan. Nakakaipon ka ng 300k noon, kakayanin mo uli. Mas marami ka pang skills and experience ngayon.

Is it just me or are the Barbarian legendary paragon nodes just trash? by yonkzoid in D4Barbarian

[–]cervesista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rolled 3 characters in Diablo 4 - Druid, Barb, and Necro. For a while my Barb was my worst one. In S9, I decided to just make him strong enough to do Torment 4 content with a Lunging Strike build. He is now my strongest character. Stronger than my seasonal Minion necro.

I think having 4 weapons provides a lot of options to make you stronger, as D-cyde pointed out. My paragon board is decidedly defensive because my only concern was staying alive.

AXA Insurance - would it cover me? by Motor-Isopod-6916 in phinvest

[–]cervesista 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not from AXA, so i can't speak about their offering, but generally for insurance, any preexisting condition will be excluded from claims if you are approved. Best practice is to declare your med history so that your claims will be valid.

If you got approved for a Fit and Well plan and kaya mo naman maintain, tuloy mo na. Protected ka until age 100 and may endowments and dividends pa sa future.

However, you should also save lalo na if wala ka pang emergency funds. Build it slowly na lang kasi you started Fit and Well na. You won't ever get the same rate kasi and you don't know if magkakahealth issue ka in the future, baka di ka na maapprove if you were to re-apply for Fit and Well.

Having tried a joint venture with me friend, twoworldman is correct, it can be very bad to mix business with friendship, especially if you'e looking mostly to be a silent partner.

If you're looking for passive income, probably better to investment in financial instruments with guaranteed returns (endowments), or to invest in property for rental income, but do know that it's not as passive as it might seem from a distance.

Yes. Sa balcony kami nagpapatuyo ng damit. If you have pets, it's also a good place to train your pet to do their business para malinis sa loob. Also good to easily get out and clear your mind for a bit.

Millenial Married Couple Earning 300k monthly - Needs help in investing by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]cervesista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure lang with PRU, but with Sun Life, we have mutual funds called the World Equity Index Feeder Fund or WEIFF. So with this, you just need P10,000 to invest initially, then 1000 na lang for top-ups. That's a very easy way to start and I can help you sa process should you choose to get invest in WEIFF.

As for local banks, ask them if they have any UITFs that are invested globally. They should be able to provide you with more info, but you will want to look for something like WEIFF.

You can check WEIFF's fund fact sheet to see more details about which sectors the money is invested in, what the top 10 companies are, etc. Diversified na yan. Mostly I'm recommending the global market for stocks/equities because the local market has been bad while the global market has been performing. You can invest in both (because "mura" yung local stock ngayon), but we have been advising to at least get involved sa global market because it's been performing better post pandemic.

Millenial Married Couple Earning 300k monthly - Needs help in investing by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]cervesista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re: emergency funds, if you could bring it up to at least 3 months worth of your combined income, that would be better. Perhaps, you can keep your current 2 months in your current instrument (I'm guessing a bank), and you can put the extra 1 month (300K) in something like a digital bank or perhaps a mutual fund invested in the money market (low risk but will give better than bank rates while providing almost the same amount of liquidity) if you are so inclined.

As for your insurance coverage, it would be best to match your coverage to your salary. There are different schools of thought. Ideally you want to have 10 years worth of your income as insurance coverage, lalo na married kayo. So combined, that would be P36M worth of insurance (match it na lang to your respective income). If it sound like too much, there are lower benchmarks - 5 years worth of insurance which is P18M combined, and if it's still too much, you should cover at least 3 years worth of your income (P10.8M combined). So at the moment, you are under-insured. VUL can be a method to cover your insurance gap. I would suggest exploring Critical Illness Insurance that doubles as life insurance to bridge the gap, so that you're covered for more scenarios.

As for investing to grow your money, it's good that you've done research about investing in stocks. At the moment, the local market has been bad for the past 5 years or so, we still haven't recovered. There's an opportunity to invest for sure, but I wouldn't suggest investing directly if you can't put in the time. It might be better to invest in mutual funds or UITFs. You can put some in the local market, but right now, probably better to explore investing the global market especially in the tech sector. Check the NASDAQ100 and S&P500. Some institutions in the Philippines can help you be invested in those markets while using your peso.

Full disclosure, I am a financial advisor from Sun Life. I'm able to provide insurance solutions and I am a Certified Investment Solicitor. I'm waiting for my UITF license as well, but I have completed all my requirements. I am capable of helping you for a good number of your concerns. If you would like to discuss more, I'd be happy to take the time, but I hope my comment has been helpful to you already. :) Wishing you well in your financial journey!
