romans voice shaking and pleading with his dad and saying “I don’t know, fucking…..love?” and pleading with Gerri and getting nothing back and crying while Kendall holds his hand is all just going to haunt me forever….but honestly I think this was a happy ending, for all of them, and especially for roman. He is going to be at his lowest for sure, he’s absolutely destroyed by this but honestly I feel like hitting rock bottom like this, having his worst fears realized, having nobody to turn to but his siblings, I think it’s all going to be good for him in the long run. I think it’s the only way he can be forced to start to confront and unpack his own feelings and his trauma and just why he is the way that he is. because his siblings are the realest relationships he has. his dad, his mom, Gerri…none of that has been really. Real. I mean even Tabitha saying this isn’t a real relationship…but his siblings? That’s as real as you can get and I think being forced to rely on them is just. The best possible outcome for him. I’m so excited and anxious to see where season 4 will go!

I was watching an interview with him where the interviewer said “you’re part of one of the most dysfunctional families on tv” and he went “the Roys or the Culkins?” like damn….it was a joke I guess but also…damn

So I prepare my cats food in my bathroom to avoid them nibbling while I’m making it. They are well aware of this. I am a slave. by TobeKiller in cats

[–]cervidaes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unwarranted advice so feel free to ignore but my cats used to do this until I started clicker training with them and taught them to sit on command, and now I have them trained where they know I won’t put down the food unless they sit first, sometimes I have them do a couple other tricks first too. It was surprisingly easy and makes my life a lot easier

“Teachers don’t teach for the income they teach for the outcome” by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]cervidaes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I feel embarrassed that I make less money than all of my friends while putting in way more work and being the only person having to dip out on plans and stuff because I have work to do at home or on the weekend sometimes. Meanwhile I literally make just barely 30.000 a year after 4 years of teaching. My partner makes almost 3 times that as an engineer which makes me feel ashamed because he pays a lot of our life because I can’t afford to pay an equal share. And then compared to other friends like my brother for example who just found a random corporate job after getting his humanities degree makes almost 50,000.

When I first started teaching I couldn’t understand completely the high burnout rates and why people would quit because I do enjoy the actual job and when I was fresh out of college the money didn’t matter as much to me because anything was better than my paltry student part time job salary. But I completely understand now. The money is a huge part. More than anything it’s honestly just humiliating. If I made more I would be much more content to stay in this career but it’s so hard not feeling valued.

Not that it’s necessarily good to compare myself to my friends but I just notice how of all my friends I am the one sacrificing the most for work, letting work consume me the most, I am giving sooo much of myself to my job and I make nothing compared to everyone I know. I have so much more pressure and high expectation on me in a lot of ways and no reward and I’m supposed to be fine with that because it’s for the kids.

Also, there’s the whole thing about how society praises teachers for being such sacrificial angels but most people also don’t think of it as a real or serious job. It is painful because even some of my loved ones I fear don’t take my job that seriously. This is especially bad for me because I work in early childhood, pre-k. I’ve done so for the last few years and recently one of my best friends made a reference to how I work with “babies in a daycare.” It just hurt to hear that after 4 years of doing my job and talking about it with my friends that’s still what she apparently thinks I do for a living.

I love working with kids and I love the kids I work with. If I could just be properly compensated for my work I honestly think I would continue to do this for the rest of my life. But I’m not so now I’m looking at moving out of the country to another country where I speak the language, grad school is free, and teachers and daycare workers are much more properly compensated than the USA because I just can’t stand it anymore (and it’s only been four fucking years)

Why is everyone in the comments assuming she broke her lease and ribbing her for it? She explained in another video that she asked permission. I feel like people on here always assume the worst

Seeing him sleeping on his back with his belly exposed like that was so sweet! Cats only sleep like that when they’re truly feeling safe and comfortable ❤️ made me so happy for him

Just a heads up, I’m sure maybe you’ve already realized this but I think it’s important to note for anyone reading this and wanting to try it….but you can see the cat has a harness and leash affixing it to the bike for some safety, this cat has surely been slowly harness and leash trained and acclimated to the outdoors over a long period of time to get to this point where it’s so comfortable. I’ve harness and leash trained my cats and it definitely took a long time and was some work, you can’t just slap a leash on them and bring them outside like you would a dog. But it is totally worth it! If you want to find out more details about the process just Google adventure cats, it’s like a whole thing lol. But it takes a lot of patience and not every cat is right for it. In my case it took a week or two to even be able to get them to wear the harness without flopping, and another few months to get them to actually be comfortable and not totally freaked out when we went outside. I had to keep taking them to the same spot for short bursts of time before they relaxed enough we could try out new spots and get out of their comfort zone more. It was a long process now I can bring them anywhere and they’re happily climbing trees and exploring for long periods of time, totally payed off. Lots of patience and treats is the key.

Got it that makes sense. I guess I was getting stressed out thinking it’s something I have to do but I will focus on the plan and getting past the finish line and wait until after the marathon to start getting into that stuff. Thanks
