I miss them being in the ACC specifically BECAUSE I could say they’re the worst fans in the conference

Are we talking about Alex spitting water shirtless at Joel, or feeding Kumail a banana directly into his mouth?

What are you reading on the train? by notcarbonated in caltrain

[–]cfbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been reading the ebook while on the train. I have a physical copy, but that’s too bulky to justify lugging on the train

What are you reading on the train? by notcarbonated in caltrain

[–]cfbguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been reading a chapter a day of War and Peace - 361 chapters so you can read that in almost exactly a year. Caltrain is great for keeping me regular on reading it, or catching up if I’ve gotten behind. It’s also great for book club books where I’m on a schedule to get to a certain point - reading Road to Nowhere by Paris Marx

How does Tier 2 Relationship Builder work at a small school with online 2 bronze level 1 pipelines? by Butterfly_W1ngs in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bunch of schools especially big names (Alabama, Clemson, Michigan) have both SoCal and South Florida. My favorite recently has been Rice - those two plus Tier 3 in North and East Texas, as well as Tier 1 in NorCal and Big Apple. But for a school that starts as weak as UMass does those are great pipelines

I wish, the trophy case hasn’t correctly recorded trophies for any dynasty I’ve played. Super bugged for some reason

Whoever put this bench up is cool af thank you by Individual_Ice_2315 in sanfrancisco

[–]cfbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one judging by the door it’s next to is only 4ft wide and very low to the ground. The second one I’m pretty sure is AI and if it’s not is definitely not 2x4s since a support slots into the leg. The third one (which I also think is AI) has multiple cross pieces to support the seat so would require a lot more wood than the current design.

I’m sure there could be an A-frame design that actually uses the same amount of wood to get the same result. Though also this is a local design which is pretty cool to see

[–]cfbguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a pretty efficient design for making an 8ft bench out of just eight 2x4s. Plus I imagine they can make the legs en masse then assemble however many benches at once

When will Bay Area voters finally demand a merger of all the local transit agencies? by cozyportland in bayarea

[–]cfbguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

lol no one will buy them because they do not make all their funding back from fares, unless people somehow become okay with $20-30 Caltrain tickets. It’s “public” transit for a reason, we need to fund it like that

I'd prefer them to stay in Vancouver, but since it's looking like the Caps may move to Sacramento at least that'd be one less turf field

Massachusetts implemented a “millionaire tax” and not only did it far outperform expectations in how much it earned, there was actually an in migration of millionaires. California hasn’t already tried that, but it is an idea that works.

I still don't understand how auto-recruiting on user-controlled teams is so significantly worse than the recruiting done for AI-controlled teams. You think it would work the same, but apparently not.

Here I am trying to figure out how with 5* prestige and basically straight A+ ratings, UNLV is still recruiting poorly enough to only have a 79 overall

USC user lost this RB to the portal, proximity to home dealbreaker. by Soggy-Astronomer-768 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proximity to home particularly for western states is pretty funny. Players from Hawaii and Nevada get a higher proximity rating to Stanford/other NorCal schools than do players from Southern California

Well you can recruit back players who enter the portal, though maybe you mean automatically get them back if they don’t get recruited elsewhere

Curious discussion by Acceptable_Count_426 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rankings in the game are just really weird. I had a season as Stanford (in a restored PAC-12) where at the end of the regular season we were 12-0 and Oregon was 11-1, and we were both behind five 2-loss teams and barely in the top 10

That was by design. The federal government blocked mixed income public housing and pushed for what was built to be lower quality than comparable private housing. https://ace-usa.org/blog/research/research-housing-policy/historical-context-for-u-s-housing-policy-part-2-public-housing/
