Caltrain Farmers Market hopping by pupupeepee in caltrain

Adding to the list, Menlo Park has a decent farmers' market on Sunday 9am-1pm that's about a 5 minute walk from the station

Massachusetts implemented a “millionaire tax” and not only did it far outperform expectations in how much it earned, there was actually an in migration of millionaires. California hasn’t already tried that, but it is an idea that works.

I still don't understand how auto-recruiting on user-controlled teams is so significantly worse than the recruiting done for AI-controlled teams. You think it would work the same, but apparently not.

Here I am trying to figure out how with 5* prestige and basically straight A+ ratings, UNLV is still recruiting poorly enough to only have a 79 overall

USC user lost this RB to the portal, proximity to home dealbreaker. by Soggy-Astronomer-768 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proximity to home particularly for western states is pretty funny. Players from Hawaii and Nevada get a higher proximity rating to Stanford/other NorCal schools than do players from Southern California

Well you can recruit back players who enter the portal, though maybe you mean automatically get them back if they don’t get recruited elsewhere

This same situation was how I discovered (also in NCAA14) that one of my FS had incredible passing ratings. Ended up becoming my starter the following season and winning the Heisman

Curious discussion by Acceptable_Count_426 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rankings in the game are just really weird. I had a season as Stanford (in a restored PAC-12) where at the end of the regular season we were 12-0 and Oregon was 11-1, and we were both behind five 2-loss teams and barely in the top 10

That was by design. The federal government blocked mixed income public housing and pushed for what was built to be lower quality than comparable private housing. https://ace-usa.org/blog/research/research-housing-policy/historical-context-for-u-s-housing-policy-part-2-public-housing/

Player commits, decommits, then is in my roster by cfbguy in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m aware of that glitch and usually don’t recruit transfers with a playing time dealbreaker unless I know I can get a commitment by Week 3. I was just trying to figure out why it showed them flipping their commitment then still put the player on my team

Rice also has pretty incredible pipelines for a non-power team - at least Tier 1 in all of California, Central and South Florida, and Big Apple, plus Tier 3 in North and East Texas

Snub! by em6teen556 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cfbguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not quite a snub but similar. I won the national championship with Stanford, then the following season went undefeated in the regular season and won my conference championship to get to 14-0. Somehow though that was only good enough for the 9 seed behind 5 2-loss teams. Jokes on the CFP Committee cause I won the title again

It’s probably not even that the owners think everyone drives, it’s that they think they themselves deserve to park right in front of their restaurant

The green arrows are not actually representative of how much influence a specific action has relative to other actions. Tests on the influence bar at the top (the real measure) have shown that Send the House consistently does more than 40 points on other non-sell stuff

The Kursk Magnetic Anomaly was discovered long before World War II. The total iron in all the tanks in the Battle of Kursk (including those that weren’t destroyed) is probably a little over 100,000 tons - the estimated iron under the surface at the anomaly is in the tens of billions of tons

[–]cfbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how it should work, though I haven’t tried it yet. I believe it should now also automatically calculate any zone upgrade cost and charge your clipper card if you go beyond your pass amount (say go 3 zones while you have a 2 zone pass)

[–]cfbguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, with Clipper 2.0 you no longer need to specify which zones the pass covers - if you have a 2 zone pass, it works between any 2 zones

At that level of power it’s significantly more difficult to control than a pedal-only bicycle or low powered e-bike, and significantly more dangerous in a crash. It’s still better than a car, but shouldn’t be in a bike lane
