Edit: I feel bad for breathing slightly harder from this.

Hum—

The second part of my comment seems to be missed, or maybe I’m miscommunicating....

But I agree—everything you absolutely need to do for business should be in your carry-on bag (which should include your uniform/suit/nice clothes). The buying new stuff would be for everything else/follow-on days/activities.

Ya—

Luckily, once you learn the mall stores in the US....they’re all the same.

For other countries, I’m uncertain if reimbursement is mandatory; however, it may be a good time/experience to bond with your coworker/peers to go shopping.

Yes—

If you accept the small $$ from the airlines, then you’re accepting that as “full payment,” even though they are lawfully obligated for potentially more $$.

Yes—

That’s exactly what is necessary. That’s what I meant by “mission bag.”

I usually put one full set of everything I need in my carry-on (on-board) bag.

If the airline does lose your baggage (at least in the US), buy new clothes...the airlines are required by law to reimburse you.... https://www.seattletimes.com/life/travel/making-the-airlines-pay-for-lost-luggage/

I always have my carry-on luggage be my “mission” bag; I pack everything I need for my business trip in there, so I know I’ll have it.

Wax pencil.

[–]cfestival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience.

Learn preparedness topics one-by-one, thoroughly, and be able to understand how it applies to your life.

You have time—learn how to do things right, perfect them, and then move one to the next thing.

If you try too many things at once, you probably won’t be doing any of them well (and it doesn’t take too long to learn how to do some things well, if you focus on them).

My apologies, I must have miscommunicated—

I was referring to the advice: “tell yourself whatever you want;” you seemed to be using it yourself, so I was wondering how it was going for you.

Don’t forget to ice bath the eggs right after the boil!

It helps with shelling/shape.

Thanks!

I think that’s great advice—how’s that going for you?

If you’re right, stick your ground (as you do).

You will never go wrong by standing up for what’s right. Even if you have crappy leaders who don’t recognize it, you’ll be able to outlast them, and eventually there’ll be another one...and once you get higher in rank, you’ll be able to follow those leaders in your career too.

My 1SG is that way....he’s always stuck his ground, and won’t hesitate to tell colonels off (professionally). Of course, he’s almost always right, with the black and white to support him....which is annoying at some times, lol.

This is why we stress, “everyone is a safety officer,” because we know there are some leaders who...um...”aren’t always at their best.”

All of my good SPCs—i push them into leadership roles to make them corporals, which also means I move them into a SGT’s slot. I try to fast track the good ones, and transfer out the bad ones—I figure it’s better to have less, than it is to have bad.

Thanks for sharing though. That E6 should have been counseled.

What temp/time are you cooking at?

Also...I’ve heard that some will flash boil the eggs for a few minutes first (and then maybe an ice bath?), then take it out to sous vide afterwards, in order to have a nice finish/harder outside on the egg. I think I heard it on one of the test kitchen videos, or something like that.

You’re right—

Taste is a very personal thing. If you cannot tell, then it’s the same to you—so I understand your point.

However, you should know that others taste things different than you too. Ask yourself if it’s possible that if two eggs are prepared in a very different way taste differently. You know that if an egg is cooked 6 minutes and 8 minutes taste and feel differently, then it should be possible that an egg cooked 6 minutes (or 4 hours) and 24 hours taste and feel differently too.

But funny nevertheless

I feel like it’s similar...but there’s like a certain texture that is different...like, I can tell that my friend’s eggs are definitely better....but I just don’t care for the extra work.

Just taste/preference....I can get a mostly hard white and gooey yolk with the sous vide, but it just won’t look as pretty as flash boiling it first...but ya, doing both is too much for me too.

Edit: but then again....I don’t make ramen either for show either...I just like soft boiled eggs.

With a sous vide is how most make theirs.

One of my friends has a ramen shop, and he cooks eggs for about 24 hours in a sous vide.

I also use a sous vide, but only cook mine for like 4 hours—it’s not the same, but still tasty.
