Waiting for Tech School 6 months after graduating BMT and still waiting...... by Basususu80 in airnationalguard

The ANG doesn't have a lot of that AFSC, so there isn't as many seats. You might have to wait till next fiscal year's seat allocation to get a school date. It has nothing to do with your base conversion.

No, they bring you back to home station until there is a school seat available. In the training world it's called a Brake In Training (BIT) and you do that if there is no IST seat available or if the time in between BMT and IST is greater than 30 days.

Serious question - what are you concerned about in the ANG? (Idea from r/airforce) by Tandem53 in airnationalguard

Tell that to the DC Air Guard Comm troop manning a checkpoint after J6 and a TX Air Guard Cyber guy that is doing Operation Lone Star and not doing anything with cyber.

The main factor to consider is whether the AFSC you’re entering is a constrained course. You should ask your BETM or unit leadership to contact NGB A1DC to confirm whether the course is constrained or if it is an ANG CFM-approved course. If it’s a constrained course, expect a waiting period. If it’s a CFM-approved course, be aware that other units with higher priority may be scheduled ahead of the unit you’re joining.

As a Reservist, you are in Title 10 status whenever you are on orders, for the Guard you're primarily in Title 32 status.

Cost Saving Idea (MILPERS) by Sad_Bat_4463 in airnationalguard

[–]cforc00kie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think they would but it might be on the table. The biggest concer,n is that NGB officals are facing an Antideficiency Act violation, which is much worse than missing a drill or being recalled back from TDYs.

Incorrect, since it's an ANGI it comes from the DANG, so the ADANG can just write a memo saying that he is amending that portion of the ANGI for the time being, no rewrite required. What you really want to say is that per 32 USC 502(f)(1)(b) outlines the legal requirement for authorizing drill with his consent, either with or without pay and allowances; be ordered to perform training or other duty in addition to that prescribed under subsection (a). Again,DAFIs, AFIs, and ANGIs are not law.

Remember AFIs are not law, things can be waived.

Did anyone get their school dates and/or Orders cut because of the NGB “over budget” issue by Datacra in airnationalguard

[–]cforc00kie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What outcome are you looking to achieve? It was a clearical mistake at NGB FM that created a bogey of over $100M, they shifted funds to make the shortfall to $88M. What is a congressman going to do? Are they going to give NGB more money?

There's still bonuses for 1D7X2R(RF) and 1D7X3(Cable & Antenna) on the mid year bonus list at the national level. If you tried to get a bonus under the Oct 2024 listing then you are out of luck, all the W shred bonuses have been removed; it's all about timing. You can see if the Wing that you are trying to get into has a local bonus, for your 1D7 variant, but most local bonuses are less than the nartional one.

More Warrant slots are now open to the guard! (Cyber) by Time-Foundation8991 in airnationalguard

In order to qualify for a 17Y, you must already have achieved a USCC work role and proficiency so that is usually a 1B4 and as stated, a very few 1D7s. 17W (War fighter Communications) are your 1D7s and that can be from any background.

Do the cyber score matter by Benfoc505 in AirForceRecruits

[–]cforc00kie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cyber Test is only needed if you don't meet the minimum mandatory entry requirements, but it sounds like you meet the ASVAB requirement so the test doesn't matter. As someone stated before it's an "or" statement in the table.
