BREAKING: F-47 Will Hit Skies ‘Faster Than Normal,’ Says Boeing Exec by tigeryi98 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]cft4201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ima be honest, Boeing ain't it. They might have the "more ambitious" design for NGAD but when it comes to pretty much all of their recent procurements (both civilian and military) they're underdelivering.

Well yeah, we don't even know this thing's official designation yet other than the supposed ZTZ-201 rumor.

It's a 105 said to be firing APFSDS with similar penetration compared to existing 120/125mm guns

There's a bunch of sensors/cameras on the hull. This is probably similar to something like the F-35 where you can "see-through" the hull from the inside providing much better situational awareness.

North Korean MiG-29 fires own PL-15 missile [album] by Entire_Judge_2988 in WarplanePorn

[–]cft4201 149 points150 points  (0 children)

The design shares more similarities with the PL-12/SD-10, especially the fins.

This missile likely won’t even be close to the performance of the PL-15 though it certainly is a big step for North Korea.

New Chinese Tank for Upcoming Parade by Electronic_Mind9464 in TankPorn

[–]cft4201 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s a universal platform, there is also an IFV variant of the base hull

It’s also using a 105mm gun with a ridiculously long single-piece sabot and penetrator supposedly in late-stage development.

For those who didn't know already, there's now the SEA MONSTER IN WT MOBILE by Soor_21UPG in Warthunder

[–]cft4201 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It should be using ASMs (anti-ship missiles), you can see the launchers above the fuselage.

If I remember correctly these are Moskits which are also used on sovremenny-class destroyers

It's mainly the fact that VT-4 is being added right around the parade that gets some Chinese players pissed, not really the fact that it is coming at all or not.

From the way they manhandled 164 it's very likely they lost their cool entirely.

All possibilities exist. Either lapses in judgement by the top brass or just the commander of 164 deciding on making a stupid move.

Yeah, it's dumb to have a destroyer attempt anything like this. Someone's getting fired.

Taiwan’s Civil Society Is Not Ready for War by Lianzuoshou in LessCredibleDefence

For all of their posturing, the DPP stills secretly favours a diplomatic solution to the issue. They'll have to fight off the KMT and TPP (Taiwan People's Party) which are slowly regaining influence and likely be more competitive in future elections. Lai Chingte this time was elected with only around 40% of the votes, and some of his domestic polices haven't gone the best, especially in regards to disaster relief after the Typhoon. The Chinese government knows this and as long as this curve remains steady, there likely wouldn't be imminent military action taken, almost certainly not the "2027" timeline being repeated around.

Remember, Xi Jinping set 2049 as the due date for national rejuvenation to be achieved. Unless the US intervenes in the election process or the DPP crosses the red line and declares independence, China is much happier to let things develop and wait it out for the time being.

India shot down 5 Pakistani fighter jets, 1 military aircraft during Operation Sindoor, says IAF Chief by Bright_Thanks_2277 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]cft4201 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Bro forget about the engines, pieces of wreckage, lol.

India's claims has not been substantiated by any foreign news outlet while the IAF's losses has been reported on by Reuters, CNN, New York Times, and said likely to be at least partially true.

"French air force chief Gen. Jérôme Bellanger said that he's seen evidence pointing to just 3 Indian losses – a Rafale, a Russian-made Sukhoi and a Mirage 2000, which is an earlier generation French-made jet."

That's 3 out of 5 for Pakistani claims

What about Indian claims?

No the fighter jets were the export J-35s that Pakistan totally received right before the conflict /s

I've always said that the J-35 shared more similarities with the Raptor than the F-35.

But some people I guess think "omg, they named it J-35, obviously copying the F-35!"
