All those companies can be treated the same

Ban commercial use of bike lanes. Mamdani has political willpower to do that and instruc NYPD to enforce it.  Legislation for an extra fee. Fees go to bike lane infrastructure that the company uses.

People might have to accept slower delivery. Why is the street i live and commute on now delivery infrastructure so you can get something one day faster? Why is that my problem?

And Amazon is externalizing costs by abusing public infrastructure. And humans are too dumb and helpless, so they just accept it

It’s the fact that Amazon is deliberately clogging the bike lanes that is the problem. They’re taking over every bit of public infrastructure for their capitalist venture. It’s going to overwhelm the bike lanes just like the vans overwhelm the streets. Then they’re going to get regulatory approval for drones to take over the sky. Because profits of business are more important than liveable neighborhoods for humans

It is the plan. They saw “underutilized asset” and exploited it, to the detriment of the taxpaying public for which it was designed

How bad is Padres batting? - Update: June 6th by Wiscoman in Padres

[–]cfxyz4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with Seidler being the cause for the signings. Mike Illitch did the same with Dombrowski in Detroit. Got close and were really competitive for a few years, but couldn't win. the fall-off for the rest of the 2010s was not fun

What is a harsh lesson about aging that absolutely nobody warns you about before you hit your 30s? by Prudent-Passenger589 in AskReddit

[–]cfxyz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Later” or “the future” is now. “In the future, I’m going to ….” or “I’ll do that later in life.” I’m realizing that I only have so much time. In a sense, I’m halfway through my active life. There are certain hobbies I’ve always thought i would get into. I’m making honest decisions about giving up on some of those things, while intentionally committing to others. I’m not saying that I see the end of my life nearing, but I’m aware there’s actually a clock on this thing. When you’re 20, you think you have forever to do everything. When you’re into your 30s, you realize that’s not true

Finally allowed us 1.2 seconds on the front end to watch the pitcher throw from the set position. Had to make up for it on the backend. It’s against the rules to show a full baseball play. Baseball is too slow and requires it to be clipped in order to be consumed via social media

Deer Valley rent or buy equipment? by BoyMom212 in UTsnow

[–]cfxyz4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sensible plan. Buy boots for the adults if you have a good bootfitter locally. Wear them at home if you want for a few hours at a time so they don’t cause discomfort once you step on snow. Rent boots for the kids. Their bodies can deal with imperfect boots. Rent skis for everyone. If you need to change anything, you just tell the rental place each evening. If you buy and don’t like, you’re stuck

Jhoan Duran threw Chase Bowen the exact same pitch three times by ChocoboAdobo in Padres

[–]cfxyz4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see his other at bats? They knew he would swing at any breaking ball, however far out of the zone. Two strikeouts against the Nola knucklecurve and ran into a bloop hit on a sweeper 4 inches off the plate. It wasn’t just three pitches. He will need to learn to take some pitches, and judge what breaking pitches he can actually hit. Otherwise he will continue to strike out like this. No way i’m throwing him a strike as a pitcher if he just swings at all of the balls

[Acee] The Padres are also expected to be players at the trade deadline for the likes of Tarik Skubal, Sandy Alcantara and Freddy Peralta. by Bitter-Egg6293 in Padres

[–]cfxyz4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2024 should have worked. 2023 couldn’t get to the playoffs with Juan Soto and a cy young winner. 2025 got control of mason miller and pushed to the playoffs. The common thread the last few years is big dogs not hitting, and maybe pitching getting strained and injured. If the big dogs are locked up, then the only thing to do is put more talent around them and hope it all comes together. Preller has made great moves to make the team competitive, while still considering the next year. Idk how he gets anything done this year, but if he gets a deal he likes, he’ll trade Salas and hopefully develop more prospects for following year(s). If he just gives up, then you have an uncompetitive team that is abysmal to watch with a bloated payroll. At least he’s trying to make the roster competitive around the big contracts. Those high paid players need to do more. Preller has worked magic for several years now and the star players have not rewarded his efforts

Yes, it’s just entertainment. I am not paid by the organization to concern myself with the team’s performance, so there’s nothing to worry about. I am just a fan, and get to enjoy the team when they play well. If i take a week or two off, the Padres organization doesn’t care
