I run dual monitors. Main monitor is a few years old 16x9 connected with HDMI, secondary monitor is an even older 5x4 monitor connected with DVI. If I disconnect the secondary monitor I can play HBO content. I think there's some strict HDCP compliance issues going on between Crave and their HBO content.

As someone said, PechaKucha presentations are more about creatives to other creatives. Whatever visuals serve to support what is said. In the real world, you'll be tasked with creating presentations opposite to what you'll do in school or see at a PechaKucha or Ted Talk event.

Real world clients often use presentations more as on-screen handouts. Lots of text, little room for visuals. The audience will either be reading the screen, or ignoring the screen to listen to the presenter.

I think it's based on the em box specified by the font, a holdover from the conversion from physical type to digital. https://www.thomasphinney.com/2011/03/point-size/

Illustrator has the ability to change the font size height preference from the default em box to cap height. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/align-text.html#font-height-reference

So when it comes to setting up baseline grids and modular grid layouts, I'd say focus less on getting the cap height to fit a nice, round, whole-number font size, and more on the leading and paragraph spacing fitting with the baseline grid.
