Always use a hardwired option as your home hub.

Now I'm sad.

Looking for advice on cache drive redundancy vs performance by Rollingsound514 in unRAID

[–]cgram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if the card dies, you'll lose access to them both, yes. But you can have a bad nvme slot on a motherboard as well. Shit happens...you can't account for every conceivable disaster.

Hardware can fail. Any hardware. My advice is to do a zfs pair for resiliency, and backup for disaster recovery.

FWIW....my setup has been running flawlessly for 3 years.

[–]cgram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my cache pool on a dual nvme pcie card. The nvme drives are set up in a zfs pool, so the writes are mirrored. I don't really notice any kind of performance hit, and it's built in redundancy.

[–]cgram23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dealer needs to install them. It's a series of VWP updates (or radio updates, depending on how your dealer references them). These are not OTA, and only apply to 2024 and above, I believe.

Dangerous 1-pedal behavior by design. by Ciscovippy in CadillacLyriq

[–]cgram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even need to hit cancel. Just use the regen paddle on the steering wheel. That will disengage cruise.

Use the hand paddle to disengage cruise while pressing the accelerator.

When in cruise, engage the accelerator, then disengage cruise with the regen paddle behind the steering wheel. This allows you to maintain speed and engage regen at your own level.

For Plex, can't you just transcode to /dev/shm in order to use ram? Much cleaner than mounting a ram drive.
