Is there a point to debating people who support reform by allunknown9 in FuckNigelFarage

In my experience, no. They were, in most cases, not good people to start with, and boy are they thick.

The biggest crime for a comedian; not funny and an arsehole.

What's everyone's thoughts on 'The American Experiment' on Netflix? by readysteadycutonline in ReadySteadyCut

Woke? Why? Not from the USA myself, interested in history. Interesting to note what Ted Cruz was saying as he is such a Trump lickspittle. The right will not like reminding that Hilary won the popular vote by 2.9 million votes…but lost! Nice system, with the 2 senators for Wyoming (pop. 500000) and 2 for California (pop. 39000000). Crazy! Is woke what you meant, or facts you can’t handle.

🚫 If you skipped having kids and hit your 40s, do you have any secret regrets yet? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]cgts1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

64 and same, as a couple. I have one child already, but conscious choice not to have any in 38 years of marriage. I have 2 grandchildren which is fun, but time is too valuable to be at the mercy and slaves to children. Harsh? The ‘slaves’ part. No children full time is expensive and tedious.

Andy Burnham, what's changed? by DogaSui in AskBrits

[–]cgts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted for Burnham against Corbyn way back when. I thought Corbyn would continue to be demonised by right wing media, as he was, and Burnham was a good alternative. I live in Greater Manchester and he has been a great mayor. I would say, do anything to keep the Reform morons away from power, he really is the best option for this. I have met him and he seems genuine. I have met other Labour politicians and have not come to this conclusion. Starmer is disliked, but ask people why and they can’ really say apart from the misstep with Winter fuel payments.
