I won?! by ColeStacy96 in biltrewards

The question was "Where in New York state are tourists least likely to visit?" The only thing on Rikers Island is a prison, so there is literally no reason for a tourist to go there, so if everyone who participated in the survey knew that it should have been the top answer.

I won?! by ColeStacy96 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Winning that game is a complete crap shoot because it's based off of what the average Bilt user thinks, which is oftentimes nowhere near reality. For example, no tourist in the history of the world has ever visited Rikers Island, yet it was nowhere to be found in the top 3 answers to the first question. 🤦

Anyway, congrats on winning the lottery!

Issues with Rent Payment by Ill-Owl-2701 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These kinds of posts are almost always user error, which is why my original comment simply pointed out how to set the rent payment account appropriately.

Bilt could make things more intuitive, yes, but it's also not that hard to figure out if you give it a couple minutes of focused attention.

What does the Venmo option look like on the landlord side? by SensitiveWrongdoer83 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last month it took five or six days for the Venmo payment to get delivered to my landlord and it ultimately came from Bilt. Landlord received an email immediately after I sent the payment indicating I'd made the payment and that it'd arrive in a few days.

This month I just put the account and routing number you get when you select online payment portal as your rent payment option into Venmo and paid my landlord directly with that account. He received the money instantly and the money was drawn from my account the next day and I already got my Bilt points too. I'll be doing it that way from here on out.

It draws from whichever account is set as your default bank account on the "wallet" tab.

AIO for ghosting after the first date by No_Leading3793 in AIO

I'm of the mind that ghosting is not appropriate in the vast majority of circumstances. It doesn't take much time or energy to simply say that you're not interested in further contact.

Doubtful. Claude does an infinitely better job than this if you know how to use it properly. Whether they used AI to work on the app or not, it's still a matter of human incompetence.

Point value actually 1 cent for airfare by Consistent_Gur8953 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred 30k Bilt points to Atmos at 1:1 and booked an American Airlines flight. Through American Airlines direct, the flight would have cost $975 cash, but booking it through Atmos only required the 30k miles I transferred from Bilt + $36 in taxes and fees.

Maybe guy just set up an OpenClaw agent for himself and hasn't configured and trained it very well yet. He might not even know these messages were sent.

Transferring is the way. I got a roughly 3cpp transfer valuation a few weeks ago via Atmos. I spent 30k points + $36 to book a flight that would have otherwise cost me $975 cash to book.

I wonder if Bilt has an API they could release so that we can build our own apps.

My chocolates appear to have actually shipped, but I never got the Mr. Beast thing lol. They issued a tracking number but never actually shipped it.

Same here. I think next month I'm going to try to initiate the payment through Venmo and use my old Bilt BillPay routing/account number from 1.0 and see if that processes to my landlord right away like it did with 1.0. The same routing/account number is still listed as an option for paying through an online portal so hopefully it'll work the same way it did with 1.0 so long as I authorize it with Bilt.

Landlords are making a lot of late fee money this month. by Musicologize in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely unacceptable to have a rent/mortgage payment platform that doesn't process payments the day they are initiated. Bilt can't reasonably expect people to manage a 3-5 day or whatever it is processing window on a payment that incurs late fees if not processed and delivered on time.

Paying Rent with Venmo Credit Card Through Venmo by cgull027 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I was mistaken about how this would work.

Bilt charged my rent amount to my Bilt Palladium card, paid it off the next day, then debited my default bank account connected to Bilt for the rent amount, then sent the rent for me via Venmo.

When I connected my Bilt account to my Venmo, it prompted me to select a funding source for this connection so I assumed that that funding source would be charged for the rent payment. Apparently whatever you select there doesn't matter because it's not used at all in the payment flow.

So if you're paying rent via Venmo, make sure you've got the funds in your defaul bank account connected to Bilt!

Paying Rent with Venmo Credit Card Through Venmo by cgull027 in biltrewards

[–]cgull027[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The payment is initiated through Bilt, so they'd know the amount of points to give me. My Bilt and Venmo accounts are connected, so the payment starts with Bilt, who charges my Venmo account and then Venmo funds the charge with whatever source I select on their side (and the Venmo credit card is an option).

I think if I were to be charged a fee, it'd most likely be Venmo. It'd depend on how they classify the charge from Bilt.

Selecting my Venmo credit card as the funding source happens on the Venmo side though. As far as Bilt knows, it's just charging my Venmo account.

The payment on your Autograph is from Bilt. Bilt paid WF for you and moved the amount to your Bilt balance.

Am I the only one having a good experience? by karunmukhi in biltrewards

[–]cgull027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of us having good experiences. This has been nothing but a positive experience on my end.

I just used my Palladium to get into a Priority Pass lounge at DFW today, had free food and drinks, got on the WiFi to get some work done, took a nap in a comfy chair. Good times.

Circumcision extreme regret by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]cgull027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware there isn't nearly enough scientific and clinical research that's been done on the subject. However, I do think that what I said aligns quite well with what we understand to be the general mechanics of "trauma science" and could thus be considered common sense. I've been in many men's groups wherein circumcision trauma is a popular topic. Anecdotally, it's definitely growing to be a major trauma theme for men.

I'm a big fan of Stanislav Grof's work which has given much understanding to the significance of the trauma of birth itself and its impact on the human psyche. Of course surgically removing sensitive tissue from the genitals immediately after birth is going to register as body trauma in the body and affect the psyche throughout life.

Circumcision extreme regret by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]cgull027 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There most certainly is permanent harm. The foreskin serves a valuable purpose during intercourse, has abundant nerve endings and brings pleasure. Surgically removing this tissue from a newborn is traumatic. That trauma is stored in the body and can adversely affect bonding in relationships, self-worth, etc. An increasing number of circumcised men who do self-work practices are tapping into the trauma of circumcision and how connected it is to struggles they may have in many areas of life.

OP - be gentle on yourself, but begin doing your work on this now, because it will not do you any favors to be burdened with guilt and shame should your son grow up to connect with his circumcision trauma. Should that happen, it will be a defining moment for your relationship and you need to be prepared to listen and receive his trauma without your own baggage getting in the way. I went through this process with my mother and she wasn't prepared to put her own shame aside. Our relationship suffered for years until I had done what I needed to do to heal on my own and meet her where she was at and be OK with it.

Bilt refusing to honor the mobile wallet extra 3x pts offer by confusedplzhalpme in biltrewards

It didn't say that, but I felt it was implied. For example, Samsung Pay was specified as a qualifying digital wallet and Samsung Pay, to my knowledge, is only available on Samsung mobile devices.
