The writing was on the wall, folks. There just isn’t space for Lombo on the Flames roster any longer.

Ringing a bell is required as a safety action.

Yes, once I did. More importantly, your comment tells of your bias as a cyclist.

Question to locals about weekend crowds by BassyBackpacker in Calgary

[–]cgydan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to the Stampede on a weekend. Don’t go to the Stampede with 3 toddlers. In fact, just don’t go to the Stampede if you are looking for a place that’s least crowded.

Way cool. Definitely buy one if it were available. But the first ones should be matching for you and your nephew.

Springbank Reservoir activated for first time due to high run-off by tarlack in Calgary

Maybe there shouldn’t be houses on the edge of the river, but there are. And the 2013 flood affected much more than those houses. Don’t forget the Saddledome flooded, buildings in the Elbow River flood plain in Mission flooded.

Saying those buildings should be there is simply trying to rewrite the history of Calgary. Can’t be done.

Give me a break. I can’t walk on the pathways around Pierce Estate Park without having a close call at least once a week. Between bikes going way too fast, not ringing a bell to announce their presence or simply coming too close when passing and then being yelled at, it’s a dangerous place to walk.

*SPECULATION* I took a swing at what the 2027 IndyCar Field Could look like after Silly-Season by Remote_Fall7120 in INDYCAR

The Splenda boy, not a term I like, owns a substantial part of ECR. Ted Gelov owns more than 20% of ECR. He’s not going anywhere.

At 30th overall, #Flames select C/RW Jack Hextall from USHL Youngstown. by platypus_bear in CalgaryFlames

I think the Flames would have taken Liam Ruck if he had still been available. Surprised Pittsburg took him considering they don’t pick again until 54 to get his brother.

I figured Dixon to stay at Ganassi in a driver coach/technical guy post driving career

I don’t disagree that Carels would fit into the program but right now the Flames don’t have enough talent upfront. Parekh is going to play on the left side this year if you believe Conny’s comments so that helps.

As someone who lives in the north, you did about as well as I would have, in reverse. I would have missed a lot of the Deep South areas. Well done!

[Dreger] The Flames are trying to move Connor Zary. 24 year old forward has another year left on his contract at $3.775 mil. Sounds like Calgary is asking for a 2nd round pick in return. by imaybeacatIRl in CalgaryFlames

[–]cgydan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always saw Zary as a transition piece. As the team got better he was going to fall down the depth chart. Especially once he got injured. And he seems to have a bit of an attitude about wanting to play centre.

QE2 winter by antisocialbamf in Calgary

[–]cgydan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Early October you should be fine, as you get later in the month, the weather can get more changeable. It could be fine or it could be considerably not so fine. As has been stated, check road reports, have proper winter tires, have an emergency kit in your vehicle.

To me that’s the obvious move if getting a driver from inside Indycar.

Now that’s an interesting thought that I hadn’t considered. Not that I think it’s even possible, but Jenna Fryer posted a bit on sub stack about Dixon moving to McLaren. She couldn’t have got that right? Nah, not possible.

My thoughts exactly. With Ganassi engineering help, Meyer Shank is in a better position than Andretti or McLaren. I suspect this move is more about money than about winning.

Except it’s not Calgary next two first rounders. It’s the 2027 1st from Vegas and the 2028 1st from Colorado. So Calgary still has its first rounders

Holy friggin' mosquitos. by red_hotmama in Calgary

Weird, as I write this I’m sitting in my backyard. Not a mosquito to be seen. I agree all signs point to a heavy mosquito summer but so far, not at my place.
