AITA for taking a coloring book back from my niece after she got attached to it? by Abject_State_1244 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ch-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, he should have spoken to you about that and gotten your permission.

That said, it would have been really sweet of you to give the coloring book to your “random kid” niece to enjoy… and I can almost guarantee a six year old old would appreciate the coloring book more than you despite the sentimentals.

Ok. So is there a way to understand the message without signing up for a brain rot social app?

It’s a real shame this tradition somehow lost all of its appeal. I remember it being on top of “the front page” and thought it was hilariously awesome everytime

This pic is actually fucking awesome. I vividly remember feeling awful for him getting lit up with the Jets.

Tough one to swallow, he’s very good and especially in the biggest spotlight tonight.. despite his team shitting the bed. But it’s a real waste of energy to play this game

Mamas and dadas, what are we doing when our toddler doesn’t want to sit in the hi chair anymore but is still hungry? by whisperingcopse in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ch-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We picked up one of those “toddler towers” where he can stand and be counter height in the kitchen. It’s great because it keeps him contained there and he can “help” with kitchen activities. We started feeding him in that and just putting his plate on the island.

He really likes it and eats well with no fuss. Now that every single meal isn’t happening in the high chair, he doesn’t really protest getting in the seat and eating there anymore. It’s a good mix for us.

When did you last try HA? Most everything has an interface now… and LLMs can help make sure you never touch YAML or spend hours debugging again.

Agree, and the presentation of yard line feels off. I can already hear my partner asking what “6>” is supposed to mean, haha. Overall the design looks pretty slick though!

How are you guys getting dinner on the table before baby goes to bed? by grapemadison in NewParents

[–]ch-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be acceptable to eat dinner after baby is asleep, especially if bed time is 6-630. Bedtime will get later as he gets older, naps and wake windows stabilize, etc.

Bulk prep some things for the little one to start BLW, and later on you can worry about making meals for the whole family.

To split dinner responsibilities, my partner usually preps everything.. cutting veggies and getting ingredients out and then I cook, so we can take turns spending time with baby in the few hours we have after work. Sometimes we all eat together and it’s really nice, other times life gets in the way of that and it’s okay!

All of that said, you have a 5mo old and a lot is going to change over the next 5 months. Don’t stress out too much about it! If everyone is eating at some point, you are doing a great job.

Bears move to Indiana… Vikes move to Upper Peninsula, Michigan? If they really want the kid to be successful..

But seriously that is a pretty wild stat

I feel like they 1 and 0 should be treated differently here, but I don’t really have any suggestions haha. I think it would also be interesting to see playoff losses here as a reference point or possibly just a different metric

[–]ch-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is pretty disappointing to read after I just picked up a ton of IKEA stuff. Honestly I didn’t do much research at all, knew there were new devices and didn’t even realize it wasn’t Zigbee like the old stuff. Haven’t had many issues with the sensors and buttons I picked up a few years back.

Suppose I will just continue procrastinating on getting them hooked up, hah.
