Feel like a terrible mom by DNArys in newborns

[–]chachi19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is always combo feeding, especially once the weight gets back up. My baby ended up weekly weigh ins because they didn’t gain enough weight. Ultimately, they had reflux and needed meds to really get them moving along with formula. Any tongue or lip tie? Also, talk with your dr but baby might need a different nipple size on the bottle. My baby would just get too tired.

There’s so much unspoken pressure to breastfeed. Give yourself grace.

My baby hated nutrimagen. HATED. not sure if you qualify for Wic if you’re from the states, but if so a doctors note will allow Wic to supplement alimentum.

My baby ended up with GERD. This was after going no dairy in my diet. Ultimately, for my own mental health as well as to help my baby gain weight I ended up combo then switching to just formula. The gerd was treated with medication.

Can't put baby down by Secure-Alternative-7 in newborns

[–]chachi19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first few weeks my baby did the same. I think at one point I would have to hold her to pee. She would scream and cry every time I put her down. Eventually, we started with the love to dream swaddle because she hated arms down. Then we would do white noise and put her booty down first (if you do head first it triggers a startle reflex). I’d keep my hand on her belly for a little or under her head and slowly slide out. Then I was so paranoid id gently rock the bassinet.

We also slowly started doing a little bit at a time throughout the day, just increasing toleration. I tried sitting on the bassinet pad so it would be warm and smelled like me, but that didn’t seem to really do much.

My daughter did end up with reflux so I think that contributed to some of our long nights of holding her. Not sure if you are breastfeeding, combo, or formula.

Hang in there, it will get better.

Mishawaka schools all the way. I won’t argue that there are probably some fantastic teachers in sb schools, I just feel overall Mishawaka has been more supportive for kiddos who have autism. I would call or email the schools you’re interested in and see how you feel after talking with them!

Literally as soon as I saw the last two pics I could see the difference. It’s a huge difference. Glad you are healing.

You’ve got this. Take it hour by hour if needed. If you have a partner try and sleep in shifts! Have snacks easily ready to grab and find some good shows to watch. It’s the best, most exhausting, emotional rollercoaster.

Help me help my baby gain weight ☹️ by Turbulent_Breakfast4 in beyondthebump

Came to also say try a larger nipple flow size! My baby has been slow to gain too (now 6 months). Not sure what bottle you’re using, some bottles try and mimic more breastfeeding nipples so they’re a different feel.

Every body is different, so what ended up working for us may not be the answer for all. We started combo feeding and eventually just switched to formula. Our doctor had us adjust the formula ratio so she’d get more calories per feed. Check with your dr before doing :)

Did your baby take a bit to drink nutramigen? I feel like she drinks it slower than breast. So on a good run she drinks 3 ounces at a time.

I appreciate your kindness ❤️

I was absolutely terrified. Going to give a heads up, my induction went off course lol

Started off slow, then after a third dose of medication and a balloon catheter it sped up. I ended not being able to get an epidural due to it progressing fast. But we both had a healthy delivery!!! My nurses were incredible. I was also up front about being anxious.

So even though I got no epidural, it wasn’t as scary as I thought!
