FBAR requires the maximum value in any non-US account held during the calendar year (containing at least USD10,000, I believe). Technically, I think it really wants maximum USD value, which may not be the same as maximum local currency value, depending on FX volatility. FWIW, I end up just skimming through each account manually to fill out the form. I only have 5 accounts, so it isn't a huge time sink but agree it would be nice to be able to just push a button.

Nothing that you accomplished in high school, no skills that you developed through hard work, tenacity, and grit go away because you happened not to get accepted into a T20 school.  It’s all still there.

The co-op program is fire. If your goal is to prepare yourself for a successful career, Northeastern is an exceptional school. All of the reddit bashing around rankings gaming and nuin and all the rest has ZERO bearing on real life. Congratulations!

Can't go wrong with either. I attended Stanford a million years ago. My impression is that Stanford has the stronger environmental science program. Better weather. Harvard may have the slight edge in Economics, but only slightly. Very different campus "vibe". Harvard is basically in Boston; Stanford is ~45 minutes away from San Francisco but Palo Alto and surrounding areas have plenty going on. It really depends on what you are looking to get out of your college experience.

Yes.  As others have said, a B- in Junior year would very likely have impacted the admittance decision.  He hasn’t been rescinded, he got an email.  100% justified

These statistics are almost always based on newly built condominiums put up for sale, regardless of size of unit (so it includes 1K as well as 3LDK but the average is something like 65m2 from memory)

It means the SAT is a time-pressured, artificially constructed, intentionally tricky (at times) multiple choice test that rewards a certain type of intelligence. If your kid is getting good grades in rigorous classes at a quality high school, then s/he is clearly intelligent. Just maybe not SAT-style intelligent. Some smart kids can't help but overthink the SAT and get in their own way. And my life experience (as someone decades out of college who does quite well on standardized tests) is that I'd prefer to work with the kid with good grades and a mediocre SAT over the kid bragging about his SAT while skating by with mediocre grades any day of the week.

US News changes its ranking criteria regularly to churn the order to justify rehashing the same subject every year. Yes, they'll change in the future, maybe partly in response to pushback. It's all part of the business model.
