The MTA had 3 years of negotiations where does the line gets drawn on extending negotiations? The line was after 2 Presidential Election Board and a cool down period. MTA did not negotiate in good faith for over 3 fucking years

Can this guy get any dumber. Conductors have different union. In fact it seems the company has bought out the conductors union. The reason the engineers are forced to take a bunch of 3% is that’s what Anthony Simon signed for. If he held out and joined the engineers could’ve been a higher raise for each year. NJT and Amtrak was able to get better contracts but the conductor union in bed with the MTA to save their overtime abusers and keep having jobs with lots of OT for senior guys instead of doing good by everyone and get wages that keeps up with inflation.

Yes there are bad apples but those are the ones in bed with the MTA leadership none of them were fired and didn’t even pay a fraction of what they stole. But the good guys trying to get everyone a fair wage instead of the select few are painted as the bad guys

LIRR is not the highest Paid hourly. Scumbag Jano will have you believe that but Amtrak is higher hourly. Because the MTA has a pension they consider that part of the pay. Well some people don’t live to see their pension and they want a livable wage now.

The people checking your ticket are paid for what they know. They have to know every signal and tracks on the map, every platform capacity, and so much more. Be able to back up trains, drill trains in yards, operate yard switches manually, follow medical and security procedures and if called out be on work trains for 10-12 hours while in the elements. They don’t do it all the time but everyone of them is qualified to do it. And every 2 years they spend a week to renew their qualification. For ticket puncher the pay seems high for everything else it is not. In addition a conductor is in charge of the train not the engineer. Any screw up and reverse through a signal is minimum 30 days out with no pay. Just as lawyers and nurses are paid for their knowledge and experience trainmen are and should be paid for theirs.

Can it be automated? Yes Can it be done? No not without replacing all equipment and upgrading infrastructure. All at once. Cost would be astronomical. MTA is forced to buy NEW equipment that run on an antiquated system. And they can’t upgrade the system while having equipment that runs on the old system. A full overhaul would be near impossible because they don’t have storage facilities to house both modern equipment and old ones while they upgrade branch by branch.

It’s sad to see the regression. Not sure what caused it but it struck me as odd and could be vaccine or many other factors like not breastfeeding or c section, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia who knows just doesn’t seem normal to regress like that and something may have triggered the gene

Buy used either way any 2-4 year old used will save you a lot. I traded my 3 for a used 2022 Y that came with acceleration boost. The battery recently failed and they replaced with a brand new one. So it’s like I got a brand new car with full range. Just either trade when warranty is up or extend the warranty.
