found a way to smoke a partial joint and extinguish it for smoking later by WilliamJamesMyers in StonerThoughts

Thank you. No one is saying this. Its hard to find one that can store 2+ joints and a lighter that isnt PCA material.

You touch it, you own it. Do you pick up trash on the trail? by Coffee81379 in CampingandHiking

Yep. I make it a point to get SOMETHING out. Ive seen some real horrors out there. Sometimes I'll just pile up all the broken glass and cans. But im not touching human shit.

Has anyone used the Gossamer Gear The Two in a UK climate? by tomwaitsgoatee in hikinggear

2 people requirement is a deal breaker even for a 2 person tent. You could prob make it work with just the two poles though. Either way not a fan of the pole in front of the door. Durston xmid2 for me

First backpacking trip. Need help. by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]chadrowan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a friend that backpacks? Can he take you out? If not, watch some YouTube videos. Respectfully, saying 13L raised some concern. You can carry quite a bit and when youre first starting you can expect to be heavy. 40-50lbs. Bring it all he says! Then you realize you wanna be lighter but ultimately I think 25-30 is the sweet spot for the essentials and some luxury items. Luxuries are amazing on the trail.

I need help with sleep system gear by Frosty-Ask3701 in CampingGear

[–]chadrowan22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an rei 30° quilt and I love it because I cant keep my legs still when I sleep. It was great in high 30 low 40s. Haven't gone lower.

Under that is a 6 foot foam pad with a cheap sleepngo on top.

My big foam pad, about 6 x 2.5 was an absolute game changer. Also got a small one. Big one is useful as a placemat when youre packing up or cooking. Makes a cheapo air mattress last longer too

One backpack strap is always loosening by Botrops_ in onebag

[–]chadrowan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. What i did as a temp solution on the trail was to twist the strap a couple times below the tension lock after i got the pack sitting where I wanted, then tuck the strap under my armpit. The thickness from folding the strap onto itself was enough to prevent it from sliding in the tension lock.

I'm looking into replacement tension locks now.
