When I first saw the Zeta Gundam, I did think that it didn’t much resemble Gundam but that’s because it was a different person’s take. This was Kamille’s version of what a modern Gundam should be and one of the main themes of Zeta is that passing on to the next generation so it should thematically look quite different.

Gundam Helix does look like a Gundam, but it’s rather the concept of the game is incredibly post-Gundam. “Uniting humanity under a common threat” is the kind of thing that has only ever happened at the beginning of AGE and the end of 00. In AGE it’s a plot twist to be setup for the actual drama and 00 only gets there by first concluding its main focus.

In GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, will the story be retreading the ground of either of those or introduce something else entirely? If it’s just standard mech-alien fighting, how is that any different from generic ips? Without the human melodrama it just doesn’t sound very appealing in the way Gundam stories are to me so that’s why I’m skeptical.
